I'm male and my hair is the messy kind, a bit dry and it's not much curly and it's not fine either and I often get lots of volume on the sides and back if I ie shake my head, so I was wondering if an undercut would help reducing a bit of volume, I already put gel on my hair practically everyday to help on this.. and it helps greatly till I shake my head or if I'm caught on a windy day 

For note, I wash my hair two times per week and I condition each time, I also stopped blowdrying it like a year ago. Any help is appreciated, thx.
