I just had Hairlocs put in last week. I have a lot of fine curly/wavy hair approx 2 inches above my shoulders, blunt cut with layers. The stylist put in 12 inch extensions, but the extensions dont blend well with the rest of my hair. In the back, you can see where my hair ends through the extensions. The stylist said it is due to the way my hair is cut (blunt). Do you think if she put more extensions in back, it would look more solid on the bottom? She used virgin/caucasian hair extensions. I spent $2500 total and feel that should have been for enough hair to produce an acceptable result. She saw how my hair was cut before she started and being the professional, shouldnt she have anticipated any problems with blending before she started? Should I go back or go somewhere else for a second opinion? Advice please!

You spent $2,500!? Holy moly, your hair should look perfect for that price! Especially because it's only 12" long hair which is a very inexpensive length. Have you contacted your stylist let to let them know there is a problem? I would demand that my stylist make it look perfect for how much you paid. That's my opinion anyway.

Would it not help if you got it cut a little bit? Maybe a little more
layered or something? I'm planning on getting extensions too, but I'm
worried about it not blending all that well.

Check out my pic. Do you think my ends look a little stringy? Is this the best I can hope for with extensions?

How long did it tak eher to install it?

It took about 6 hours. I was looking at some of the leftover extensions and each extension has about 25-30 hairs in each extension. Is that enough hair for a single extension? Maybe thats why it looks so thin.

first off- that cost is WAY high. i dont even charge that for 22 in hair.
how many strands did she install?
Virgin Caucasian>?????? lol
the way your hair was cut has nothing to do with it, and besides if it did, all she needed to do was texturize your ends of your hair.
i would go back to her and tell her calmly that you like the hair but for the cost you expect it to look amazing and she needs to fix it with no charge. she needs to either add more hair, or
and lastly where are u located?
if you are in my area, i would be happy to help.

Hey Kurlz, I wrote you back. I'm completely outraged by the service you recieved. Your hair should be WAY thicker than what I'm seeing in your picture. Read the email I sent you.

It looks nice, a little thin at the bottom. I think you got robbed tho if you paid 2500. Is the tip made of gold??? You should have super long thick hair for that price!!!

my natural hair is so choppy and so SHORT from a bad hair accident and my stylist does a fabulous job blending!
i had 22 inches of bohyme french refined and she used the wefted micro ring method and the whole thing cost me less than $500. that's including buying 2 bags of 22 inch hair. she only charges me between $35 and $75 to retighten it. depends on what i have done to my hair between appointmens
too bad you don't live in st. louis. i'd take you to her! she's great

Go back and fast!!! Clients with lots of hair should end up with tons of hair!! I cant belive thats all you got. The 14 inch is also the problem because the higher rows did not come down far enough to fill out the bottom and with only 14 inches I asume she did not want to cut your length because you would not have any. Or the strands she put in were just way to fine. I can't belive it took that long for that. Demand to be made right or refunded!
Oh, good color match and love the curl. At least she got that right!

if extensions are done by a qualified stylist who actually knows what they are doing, the results should look amazing,
the placement of the hair has everything to do with just how good the hair actually looks once finished.

It looks 100% better!!!! Now why couldn't that other stylist who charged her and arm and a leg and a 1st born child do that????? Why, because she obviously didn't care, and was just doing it for the money!!!
Way to go tangles!!!!

I have been meaning to post an update. Here is a recent picture of me. See how great my hair looks! Thank you Tangles. You are awesome. It is obvious you care about people and take pride in your work. Im so grateful for your help. Thanks to everybody for your responses, your advice and your humor. Since I paid the original salon with my credit card, I am currently trying to dispute the charges. Wish me luck!

you all rember kurlz, well we did a full take out last nite- all the hair that was done by the previous stylist, (and the ones i added to fix it)they coated each strand tip with some silicone, then stuck it into the loc, while it was still sticky and wet with this stuff, it was literay stuck in the loc, after careful removal, and then i had to remove the silicone that was all throught her head, the next day (today) she came in for a full install with Hairlocs french refined hair, and also the dried silicone tipped hair left over.
so a total of about 200 strands and 2 1/2 hrs later!
she is such a doll too-
ps- i asked sherie to post some pics for me
