ok...i been thinkin bout this..maybe one of ya'll can help me!

ok, if your hair is trained really good..then it will grow will lying down correct?.. so if you grow out your hair for a couple of weeks..then if you get..say a #1 WTG..wouldn't the final result leave your hair longer and deeper than a #1 would normally give.

Basically what im asking is..can you get your hair cut with a #1 every 2weeks if your hair is tained and get deep waves eventullay??

the longer you grow your hair out the deeper your waves will be when you get a cut. but i heard cutting you hair against the grain makes you waves tight, if its trained correctly.

Yea but you also have to use a #2 so you want cut it too low when cutting ATG. Cutting against the grain will cut it shorter if you use the same #1 you used cut WTG. It's best to go to the next size larger in order to prevent from cutting your waves off when going against the grain.

i use the andis masters & the oster classic 76 (detachable blades) to cut. just to let you cats know, #2 for these clippers are not the same for wahl clippers (don't quote me). here is a break down:

classic 76 - #1 = 3/32", 1A = 1/8", 1.5 = 5/32", #2 = 1/4", 3.5 = 3/8". #1.5 & #2 are great for WTG. for ATG, try #3.5 first then work your way down if you desire.

andis combs go by measurement instead of numerical system so they are easy to learn. wahl are different i believe. these are the main brands of clippers. i recommend oster detachables and andis masters with oster being 1st. the motors are great. gives a smooth cut. costly though.

to answer your question. it is best before you cut your hair to comb WTG 1st. this way you get an even cut. so, #1 will always cut the same length.
