Ladies, the Maxiglide is the truth!!  My naturally very curly hair got soooo straight I couldn't beleive it. My hair wasn't even this straight when it was relaxed.  The ends got pin straight, which is the hardest area for me to get straight and I didn't even have to use any oil on it like I usually do.  I just used Beyond the Zone heat protectant and it came out so silky and shiny. 

The Beyond the Zone is an awsome product also.  I love it.  It will be my new staple.  It smells so good and it feel like it is really protecting the hair.

Anyway, back to the flat iron.  It has a heat setting of 1-10 and I only had to put it on 1!  You can also use steam, which I haven't gotten the hang of yet but you don't have to use it.  I got my hair straight in one swipe and it didn't pull or snag at all......just slid right through like butter.  In some areas I did two swipes but I made sure to do cookiesnkream's method of making sure the hair has cooled a little before you swipe again which cuts down on the degree of heat that is used on your hair.  I think this really makes a difference.....(thanks girl, great idea!)

This feels much better for my hair than my old flat iron because you don't even have to close the iron all the way to get it straight so your hair dosen't get fully exposed to the heat.  I touched my hair after I swiped it and it just felt warm, not hot like it used to.

 Ok Pokahontas, did I not tell you that the Maxiglide was "IT".  Your hair looks GREAT (just like mine).  Girls you need to get one of these.  If you  stick straight hair, this is your ANSWER!

Wow!  Your hair is sooooo pretty!!!  Congratulations on finding a great product and for sharing it with us.  This weekend, I used the Beyond the Zone Heat Protectant too for the first time and I love it.  When I sprayed it on, I thought it looked a little oily, but It was great!  My hair is very silky and smooth, especially my roots.  This product is great!  You ladies need to try it!

Thanks again, Poka....I'm going to get me one of those Maxiglides.  I know they sell it in Bed Bath and Beyond.  I saw it over the weekend, but I can't remember the cost.

@cookies....lol.  I think you will really like the iron though and the beyond the zone is great but I'm not sure if the ingredients are good or not.  Here they are:

cyclopentasiloxane, neopentyl glycol, diethylhexanoate, disopropyl sebacate, disopropyl adipate, retinyl palimitate, tocopheryl acetate, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, fragrance. 

Now that i typed all that I just realized that I have no idea what any of it is.  Does the Fantasia spray have similar ingredients?  I couldn't find that one so that's why I got the Beyond the Zone.  I really like it and I had heard a lot of good reviews on it.

@jazmynsgrandma......Thank you.  The iron is $80 dollars witch is good because after using it I would definitely have paid more for it.  If you decide to buy it let us know how you like it.

Yep, only on the first setting.  I was surprised too because with my older irons i had to put them on a higher setting.  It really makes a difference when you get a good flat iron.  I will never go back to using cheaper ones. 

Yeah, the steam burst is interesting but I haven't gotten the hang of it yet.  You have to push this little button to get the steam to come out or you can just do it without the steam.  I am still in awe about how straight it got my ends.  I've never seen it like this before, even when I flat ironed over and over the same section with my old flat irons.

Pokahantos- What exactly does the steam burst for? It didn't revert your hair when you flat ironed it?

I looked it up...its not in my price range at the moment . I'm between  trying flatrioning or Dominican Blowout.

Lol.  Your welcome.  No, the BTZ isn't heavy at all.  I made sure my hair was covered thouroughly with it and it didn't get heavy.  It's great stuff.  Yeah, I noticed that with the Fantasia serum.....it has a lot of cones in it which kinda scared me away from it.  The BTZ seems to be moisturizing because I've had my hair flat ironed for a week and I've only had to lightly moisturize my ends a few times.  My hair is still so shiny from it.

No, the steam didn't revert my hair at all.  The booklet says the steam is used to soften tough stubborn hair.  What you do is pre-soften on the first swipe using steam bursts and on the second swipe you don't use it.  It is described as being like the steam from a clothes iron to help smooth out wrinkles......I know that sounds funny but it works.  I didn't use it the whole time and my hair came out just as straight.  The steam also adds shine.

I'm with you on the price thing.  It wasn't in my price range for a long time either but I decided to finally splurge and buy it.

Yeah, the book said to make sure you don't use the steam until after you pass the first 3 inches of hair so I waited until I got way down because I was scared.  I'm pretty sure if you try that it won't burn.

There was a huge thread on the Straightening Board about the TCP.  Based on the posters' results, I would NEVER use that thing.  Too many posts about burned hair and melting irons makes April scared.

Thanks.  Actually I wrapped it and sat under the dryer.  I don't  like to blow dry and flat iron because it's too much heat for me.  After I took down the wrap I did lightly blow dry for maybe 2 or 3 minutes because it was a little damp.  Nope, haven't tried TCP.  I don't think I will be straying from the Maxiglide anytime soon.

I've been wanting a maxi since I first saw the infomercial.  I've heard of ppl getting one for a cheaper price from various places, but Im not too sure which one is legit. 

So seeing that you got yours, and it works just fine... I would like to know where'd you get yours?  If you don't mind. Thank You!

Thank you merisit.  I got mine from Bed Bath and Beyond.  I don't know if you have one of those in your area but they are $80 in there.  That's probably the cheapist you will find that iron.  If you're looking to buy online most people get their flat irons from folica.com.  HTH
