What do you girls normally do when you do the takedown and there is matting? I know alot of that is from the natural hair shedding, but sometimes I get clients that have some massive @#*t going on under there! Any suggestions to make it easier? I use shrinkies and Amm's remover..... Thanks!

well, if you are using shrinks, yeah use amms stuff,

i do mostly hairlocs or shrinks, but somtimes they do have some matts, what i do is this- i open up the locs, or if you use shrinks yes, go ahead and try to get loose the bond, then i use a rat tail comb and use the point and go upward, yep go upward, this will help to move the matt up and out of the mess, go slow and it will all come out without any breakage,

hope this helps

Methodic tedious work them mats. Put "Take Down Hair Cream" in a
search and there are several places offering it.

I use the metal tip high lighting comb to open up the mat. Some are just more prone to matting. I have clients I wont let go longer than one month because of that.

Thanks guys! I guess it's just going to be more work. And, it is such a process, and takes so much time to get it all combed out after you take the bonds out. Do you guys have more trouble with long hair, curly hair, etc.? My last client has med. natural curl and just kinda scruches her hair, not alot of product is used. Mostly just a little shine/moisturizer on the midlenghts, it was in about 2 months and it was just sooooooooo matted. Also, another client has really long extensions and she takes good care of her hair, but she had THE WORST mat underneath. I had to take a straight razor and cut up into it. Ahhhh! It all worked out though

It just depends. The ones who seem to mat most have fine hair with a curly or wavy texture. These are the ones who mat up eaven with out extensions. As for underneth matting they arn't making sure to care for that part. They just brush over. A loop brush and making sure every day that there fingers are getting thrugh the bonds will solve that.
