Hi I'm new to the board....and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about extensions plus, specifically their custom hair?
I'm geting extensions for the first time and I'm debating between their european straight hair and the italian hair.
Has anyone ever tried either, if so what's the difference in texture? I know the italian is more body...but is it big hair or just loose cascading waves? Did you get thin or micro-thin wefts?
Any feedback(or real life pics)would be greatly appreciated since only hair stylists can order samples from these guys.
Thanks!

i LOVE ep hair- i currently have their custom wefts in my head- two that are georgous and thick hand tied- two colors blonde 613 and 22 which is a warmer blonde.
i have used their micro thin wefts- called softwear, they are on the thinner side so doubling is a must.
their italian has a nice curl to it when u dry it with a dyfuser or let air dry
their ez plugs softwear hair, individual strands are very nice, no shedding nice firm tips , more costly them other places but i do really like them.
i am a professional and i really like using either the ep or the hairlocs hair for my clients

I agree, EP has good stuff.
I have sent them many little snippets of my client's hair, and they do a darn good job at matching and making a custom blend for the client.
I find their Italian hair has a little wave to it. It's nice hair!

i've just talked to cheyne of ep, she's really great, and gave me a good price for weft closures..
they totally educate the clientele on what they will be buying..i can't vouch for the rest of their crew..but cheyne is the bomb!

I have another question for you guys...what's the difference between the machine and hand tied weft?
I've decided on the italian thin weft...but I don't know what the difference would be between the hand and machine.

the main difference is the hand tied you CANNOT cut
the machine you can.
the hand tied i have is much thinner then the italian thin weft. i currently have two custom hand tied two color weft in my hair, i love it

I know the original post was posted months ago, but I am new here and wanted to give my "shout out" for Extensions Plus hair anyway.. I am a reformed BSS hair wearer.. I will never wear BSS hair again. I bought my EP hair over THREE YEARS ago.. (you are reading this right I have been wearing this hair for THREE years!!!) and it STILL looks good.. This hair has barely shed, and has NEVER tangled. When it's time to re-do my weave, my beautician takes the weave down, washes the EP hair, and re-installs it. (Obviously I haven't changed my hair style much.. I had purchased enough hair that we changed the cut once in the two years.. However, I'm sort of a simple girl when it comes to hairstyles..)
The ladies at EP are fantastic. Because I live in the LA area I went to their store. They took a sample of my own hair to ensure that the color and texture matched my own relaxed hair. I opted for ordering custom blended machine wefts to achieve this. The hair I have is a blend of two different hair textures and colors to achieve the look of highlighted relaxed hair. It matches my own relaxed hair texture and color PERFECTLY. Once installed, it looks like I had highlighted my own natural hair.
Weaves cost too much to deal with cheap hair that tangles when you just LOOK at it.. With the BSS hair I used to buy, I hated having constantly to brush my hair to ensure it didn't mat in the back. Not to mention the hair sheds when you simply run your fingers through your hair! I will never go back to BSS hair..
That said I do need to say what those of us who have purchased hair from EP already know.. This hair ain't easy on the wallet.. (average cost is $35 - $60 per oz) Is it worth the cost? Well the fact that I've gotten two years (and counting) worth of wear out of this hair speaks volumes.. That said I will continue to buy from EP (I just ordered a closure from them today), BUT I do admit that lately I have been looking into other possible sources of high quality, long lasting, remy hair that might be a little easier on my wallet..
I am still doing my research. After wearing what I think is easily the BEST hair available (Extensions Plus), I will not accept any less than quality hair (even if the price is cheaper). Otherwise I could just hit my local BSS (or His & Hers) for high quality non-remy hair..
So far in my research, I have only found TWO of the MANY hair distributors out there who I would consider "investing" my money on hair with. Why?? Well to begin there are so many of these so called remy hair distributors turning up everyday all over the internet.. IMO, many of them are just fly by night "bookie" joints. (home businesses that are ill prepared to handle basic customer service needs, or flat out rip offs) Here's the red flags for me that I look at as I have looked at these MANY hair businesses..
- E-mail only contact
- Customer service reps who OBVIOUSLY do not know ANYTHING about human hair products. (including one guy who actually told me that there was NO SUCH thing as Russian or Indian hair, and that Remy (or cuticle aligned) hair was a gimmick used by companies to sell hair!)
- Ridiculously LONG fulfillment periods (Some of these places have a reputation for having quality product, but they also have a reputation for it taking forever to get the product to you)
- Hair with nits(!!!)
(can you say ewwww!) (I won't blast the dealers I have heard that have this issue.. but again ewwwww)
EP has a reputation for quality product, real people (WHO KNOW HUMAN HAIR PRODUCTS) to answer your questions, and most importantly.. NO NITS IN THE HAIR!!!! (again.. can you say ewwwwwww! )
If I shop from anyone other than EP for hair I am looking for three things.
- Real, knowledgeable people to answer questions
- Quality customer service (fair exchange policies, responsive customer service)
- Quality product (tangle free, LOW shedding, long lasting, and no nasty nit shells)
- Fair pricing
Until then Extensions Plus has a customer for life!

i have to agree with Most of what u said. The EP hair is awesome, i wear it and so do my clients, i have never had a problem with it at all.
your comment about home base business not being good. For the most part i agree, however, there are two of our girls from this board that have their own home base business with hair and supplies. The only reason i do buy from them, and alot of others on this board do as well is for these reasons.
They test the hair, they Personally wear it for about a month before ever offering to sell it. they know all there is is to know about the hair and they dont just get hair at a good price and decide hey i think i will sell it.
alot of people do that though, they get hair, have no idea about it, dont wear it, dont test it to see how long it last, does it shed, does it fall apart nothing, they just say hey, i found some hair and now i am selling it.
there is so much junk hair out there, i dont trust anyones opinion unless they work with it themselves for quite some time.

You may have misunderstood me.. I have no beef with home based businesses. What I do have issues with is the many "home businesses that are ill prepared to handle basic customer service needs". I named no names because I didn't want to put anyone on blast. It's one thing to buy something from someone and report a bad experience with that merchant.. It's another to put someone on blast because you think they are less than honorable in their business practices. Like I said, all I expect from anyone I do business with is the following:
- Real, knowledgeable people to answer questions
- Quality customer service (fair exchange policies, responsive customer service)
- Quality product (tangle free, LOW shedding, long lasting, and no nasty nit shells)
- Fair pricing
- and yes you are right.. Reliable word of mouth testimony (that is after all how I found out about EP)
At least three of the EP alternates I have been considering are home based businesses.. I judged all of these businesses not on whether or not they were a home based or brick & mortar type of business, but whether or not they all met my criteria/standards for a company I considered worthy of doing business with.
I've checked out the Elite Remy hair, and the hair does look gorgeous.. They happen to be one of the EP alternates I had been looking at already. (the other site you mentioned was does not have wefted hair, so I hadn't looked at their product) I would like to recommend that you check out http://www.remyhairtoday.com - http://www.remyhairtoday.com . I only have one beef with Remy Hair Today... I wish there was a way to mute the music on their website without having to turn off my computer speakers!!!

Hello Divavocals,
Just wanted to respond to your comment about my wife's site.
http://www.remyhairtoday.com - http://www.remyhairtoday.com
Tried to respond earlier but had to wait for activation and such ;)
I hope you have found the new sound scheme to work a bit better... I adjusted the volume to come in a bit lower and then fade to a softer background. Also there was an option to mute but it was not labeled. It is the small equalizer symbol on the upper right of the flash animation panel. I did put some wording in with that to make it more apparent though.
Hopefully these changes were noticed and make coming to the site a bit more enjoyable. I'm by no means a flash expert and I've been working on modifying the existing flash to suit the site's needs.
The site also has a forum section and we would love to have people use it some more as well if they are so inclined. right now its mainly to get some questions answered that we seem to get alot of. (i.e. FAQ)
We do welcome comment and suggestions to help improve things. I'm quite busy but I do try to help get things adjusted on the site when I can.
Thank you everyone for many of the positive comments that we have seen around the different forums. My wife works very hard to get the best quality hair out to her customers.
Thank you,
Phil

We can get blonde hair though it is not as common considering that it is a rare color to have in India. All the hair we import is direct from India.
Since all the hair we have is virgin remy indian hair it takes dye extremely well.
We did have a bundle of blonde that was in our last shipment (i believe it was sold already) My wife has a fokti page set up to show off some pictures of the hair. There should be a link to it from the forums section of remyhairtoday.com

Hi Phil,
Were you aware that your "fusion specialist" that works with you was recently banned from this site for her outrageous behavior? Her name is "Valencia"...FYI....

Thanks for all the info DivaVocals. I live near Extensions Plus and have never been there!!
I'm looking for the seamless weft aka skin weft. Does anyone know if EP sells them? If not, is there a good source to buy them?
I bought a clip-on seamless weft from a lady in North Hollywood called
"Top Secret". The hair is crap! It's been tangling since the first day.
It also doesn't match. I realized this when I got home. I spent $260.
Not too happy about that.
Thanks in advance!
p.s. I really like your site Aphordite!

I was informed by my wife about the ban since she and Valencia are friends. Personally I am not aware of the specifics as all posts and related articles were deleted or edited for content. Obviously someone had issues with what was said...though I am unable to see for myself due to administrative editing.
I tried signing up back on the 14th of Feb. but it took a long time to get any email to activate. My main reason to login was to comment on the changes I made to the site in respects to Divavocals comments.
As far as having Valencia on our links: I do know that Valencia is an excellent fusion specialist who is professionally trained and licensed. People all over the USA and overseas do come to her for fusion work.
She takes pride in her work and wants people who get fusion done to be happy with the results. Much like myself (I'm a professionally licensed and certified Military Fiber Optic Installer and Trainer) I want anyone who does similar work to do a great job.

Well, it didn't take long for Valencia to show off her arrogant, self-aggrandizing mentality.
Give it time, you'll see for yourself. I guarantee

No problem.. Good luck with your EP purchase.. I really loved the hair.. You will too.. It is worth the cost in terms of quality and wear..
I'm wearing RK's 1b single draw straight right now.. So far so good.. It's been 1 week and the hair is behaving nicely and wearing very well.
P.S. Girl, you live near THE hair mecca and you haven't been inside yet??? I live about 5 miles from EP.. That might have been my mistake.. I HAD to buy some hair once I was there..

You know what.. You guys are great.. Your wife has the greatest customer service.. Her willingness to answer EVERY SINGLE question I asked about the hair (and I asked a LOT of questions) speaks VOLUMES about her. I have to say I'm impressed and pleased that you guys care so much about your business, and it's reputation.. Before I spoke to Camile, I heard nothing but good things about Remy Hair Today on the Black Hair Forum. Thanks for addressing my comments.. IMO, you and your wife are truly a class act..

Yes I see this.. However, the label is barely visible.. The text color is black against a dark red background.

I just gotta say this.. I realize that the ladies here do not like Valencia, and that's fine.. In a sense I do see both sides of the "conflict".. I have no position one way or another on the matter..
However, I would hope that folks here would not hold their feelings for Valencia against Camille and Remy Hair Today simply because she KNOWS her.. Camille's a nice lady, and she has been able to build a reputation for herself and her business as customer service oriented with a quality product. She doesn't control who buys her product, and IMO she should be judged on her own actions not the actions of her customers..
If Valencia bought hair from Extensions Plus, would we then question Extensions Plus?? I'm sure EP has a BOATLOAD of customers we could all find fault with (hell the 1st time I went there, this BIOTCH was there actin' a fool as they say), but I would never hold that against EP.. It's all about their customer service and quality of product. Just my three cents..

You're so funny I went today!! Those
ladys who work there are super helpful. It's so nice to have great
customer service! Their hair is really nice. I'm definately going to
buy from there. They're a bit more expensive but you can tell it's
quality. I'm planning to get one weft and use clips (which is what I do
now but I'm not happy with the hair)
Have you been to the hair shop in Encino? They've got good quality and
a large selection but the customer service is the opposite of EP.
They're like "what do you want? get lost" oh well. I love hair shops!
I live in Van Nuys, how about you?
