Hello all!  I recently cut off about 7 inches in a time of change and now realize that it's changed a bit too much and I'm wanting to grow it at a nice healthy fast rate again.  I am finishing grad school in 4 weeks and do not have the money for hairtopia and the other fancy schmancy pills.

I have been taking prenatal vitamins and 1000 mcg of biotin since I am also a vegetarian but someone told me that taking prenatals is not healthy for you.  So I'm looking to see what other vitamin routines everyone has and to see if it's working or not working for you.  I'm also going to Guatemala in January for 5 weeks so I wanted to have a nice routine set that I can take with me.  Thanks.

Traci

Add biotin to your regimen.  MSM.  And silica, too.

Enjoy your trip to Guatamala!

I also posted this question on the feedback board, but I'll put it here as well:  What happened to the actual Hair Vitamins and Growth Formula board? I am very interested in hearing long-term feedback from people using things like viviscal and hairtopia before I make the investment.

I actually had just switched up my routine to a hair forumula but I started taking it on sunday and by monday night I was getting headaches and had one until today (wednesday) but I didn't take any supplements today because I had such a migraine.  I've looked at so many supplements and they all have such high content of B vitamins and I read somewhere that you can definitely overdose on the B vitamin family.  Just curious if these are safe to take since they are so high in content.  I was looking at the ones by GNC, countrylife, and maxihair.  All are relatively the same.

Not true.  B-vitamins are water-soluble.  Any excess quantities are excreted through urine.  Certain other vitamins & minerals, however, are fat soluble, and overdoses are possible.  Overdoses of Vitamin A (non beta-carotine form) can lead to hair fallout among other more scary side-effects.  Click here for more Information on http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/foodnut/09315.html - fat-soluble vitamins .
