Maybe you could try shaving in the same direction as the hair grows? Usually many shave in the opposite direction and this can cause irritation.

It could be either your deo. or the soap??? Try to go without putting deod. on at night and make sure you are washing really good.HTH

Don’t listen to them its not nasty that you put that on here, you just wanted help and suggestions and that is what the forum is here for so don’t feel bad that you have skin problems and wanted to ask for help. Studying medicine you understand that there is a lot that can go wrong with the body, it’s just a part of life. Maybe you should see a dermatologist to make sure that you aren’t experiencing an allergic reaction to your soap. Maybe you need to change the type of razor you are using, or you need to change the direction in which you shave. But my suggestion is to see a specialist if it doesn’t clear up or gets worse.

I agree, you first 2 posters weren't very nice to kesha.  I don't know why your skin would get darker unless the bumps are just making it appear darker.  Lots of people get bumps when they shave certain areas - do they go away if you stop shaving for a day or two?  Razors with the twin blade and moisturizing strip help, so would shaving cream...assuming you aren't using those things already and having problems because you are allergic.  I would try changing your routine and leaning towards more moisture until you get something that stops it (meaning the moisturizing strip, shaving with shaving cream, or that other post mentioned using conditioner to shave with...something else to try).

Hi Kesha!

Well I asked one of the head cosmetologists at work, cuz I was sort of getting the same thing..She said that what happens is your skin gets irritated by teh shaving and then it builds a thicker layer to protect itself. The layer is darker and that is why your underarms start to get dark. I thought about it for abit and it sort of made sense, so I stopped shaving and got my underarms waxed. It really seemed to help. Also, I switched to Secret Platinum Deoderant with the Olay in it and that also seems to help too.

As for the little lumps...how little are they? If they are just like tiny little pricks under the skin, they could just be the little hairs that need to pop out. Try using a gentle exfoliant. I remember when I first started shaving, I got little bumps that were almost like cysts. I guess they were ingrown hairs. My mom  told me to use a hot compress on them as much as possible and eventually they came to the surface and a tiny little hair popped out! So small for so much trouble!

I hope that helped! And don't worry about rude people calling something "Nasty". We all go through problems like that at one point or another!

Check out opaltech77 on ebay for skin lightening products that are gentle, but really work(address in my signature).  Also castor oil is good for soothing irritated skin.
