If you're going to re-dye your hair, you should wait at least two weeks. I'm no expert but from what I know or have been told, you should probably dye your hair blonde first and then black, as having a lighter color usually takes better when going into darker shades.

I have a problem... I dyed my hair green with a temporary dye the day before Halloween. It was supposed to wash out in 4-6 washes, but it's still in my hair (almost 3 weeks later). I used "Avatar Hair Color Rinse, Semi-permanent. Does anyone know how I can get this stuff out, It's looking REALLY BAD right about now!

Never dye your hair with something like that, the best thing to do is get those "spray on" colors. They're mostly water based and will wash out easily the next time you shampoo. A friend of mine bought one of those spray on colors, it was red and it turned out pretty well and washed out easily. If you're going to do your hair green, its especially important in getting something you know you can wash out right away, especially when a color such as green doesn't look good in hair after a few days.

Try a platinum hair dye to remove the excess green.  This trick usually works for hair that has been dyed a certain color and has an excess of green, red, gold or orange.  With your hair wet, use a VERY (smaller than a dime size, but if your hair is longer you can use a bit more) small amount of a platinum (the blonde that looks gray, usually a 12.1 or 12.11 range) hair dye, just the dye that comes in the tube, don't mix the oxidizer in it.  Then start massaging your hair with it, the excess of the green should come out instanly, if you think you need more green washed out, let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes (no more than that), then rinse.  That should at least tone down some of your green.  If your hair is still green try it again in a few days.  It should help some.

If your hair is still greenish after that, I suggest you buy a red or golden based hair dye and do the same thing (wet hair, massage only the paste in the tube in your hair) on your hair again, but with a red or golden tone.  If that still doesn't work, get a real none permanent hair dye and put it over your hair for a few minutes, not letting it sit for the whole time, try to cut the time to 1/3 of what they recommend.

Hope this helps, and remember to deep condition between processes and for maintenance once a week.

Why is this thread a sticky?  Can one of the mods here take this down? Because I thought they couldn't make stickies anymore, and I'm coming across them again. Thanks!

OK. I am new and have yet to bug the mods, so I will drop them a line.  This is getting really annoying.
