Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what I should do to my hair because it's kindof boring. It is pretty thick, and naturally wavy (especially in the back which drives me crazy!) If I could actually get the waves and curls to look good without all the frizz I would wear it that way. The first pic my hair was straightened with a flat iron.

I see what you mean. The colour should be nice, but it doesn't go well with your skin tone for some reason, I'd suggest tinting it up a bit or changing it altogether.

It's not that bad though. The shape isnt terribly bad, though it looked a bit boring straight. Mess around with colour, and layers, maybe get some bangs.

Sideswept bangs and some long layers would look awesome!

I love your hair!  It's thick and gorgeous.  I like how it looks in the second picture when you left it natural.  And the red looks very nice on you!

However, I do understand what it's like when the urge to do something different hits.  Whatever you do, go subtle.  I think what you have suits you just perfectly, and a drastic change might not be what you're really looking for.  I'd suggest just a little shaping - perhaps just a trim, and a few few long layers to help bring out that natural curl.

Good luck!  And whatever you decide to do, make sure to post an update!

Embrace your natual hair texture and make those waves work for you. You hair is beautiful you just need a cut because the way the hair is now it overpowers your whole face. If you want to keep the length then I would suggest a long layered haircut to help get rid of that bulk that is weighing down your hair and just making the hair overpower your face. Nothing too drastic with the layers just the last 3-4 inches of your hair layered with the shortest layers slightly above your shoulders. Possibly a nice fringe around the front of your face as well if you don't mind the round brush blow drying that would go along with it to make that stand out. It would look nice for your face shape when you do flat iron your hair. If your going to keep your hair parted in the middle then stay away from the side swept bang thing...it would work if you did a side part but not in the middle.

Remember as I tell all my clients the watchword is gradual. You can always go shorter if you like but you can't once your cut it it's gotta grow back out.

G'luck

You have nice thick hair, I would suggest a change in color.

I love your hair!!  I think it's a beautiful color, and I love the length. I think you should definately embrace your hair's natural wave....  i think it's gorgeous. One thing i did when i had long hair  (which i greatly miss!) was to wash and condition it right before bedtime, and then i'd braid it in two large braids. I'd sleep with my hair in the braids, which would dry by the next morning. When i'd undo the elastics, I was left with the most amazing mermaid waves.....   I think that if you did something like that you'd find that the natural wave in your hair isnt an enemy, it's your friend!  You'd also look like a modern day repunzel, too......

Hi1 I have the same hair type as you. It does the same thing when i grow it out all one length. the topg gets flat due to the weight of the hair, then it thickens as it comes down past the shoulders, emphasizing my square jaw.

What i do is, I go to a reall good stylist who layers all of it, then thins it out around the middle, right where it meets the neck and shoulders.

i can then blow it straight or leave it really textured and it has a great shape around my face and on the back to.

My avatar has a picture, but I was due for a recut there- it had grown out a bit.

You do have beautiful hair but it seems to overwhelm your face.  I would suggest long layers, with the shortest around your jawline.  Color would be nice, possible reddish/bronze low lights.  Take a look at Kate Beckinsale at http://www.kbeckinsale.net - www.kbeckinsale.net .  I think your hair would look nice like hers because she wears it wavy and straight.

I liked your second picture where your hair was more wavy/natural. I'd say don't flat iron. My suggestion would be a longish bob with a deep side part OR some long layers throughout -- would get rid of some of the bulk if you don't want it OR skip that and only do face framing long layers. If you go for color, I would suggest a chestnut brown. If you decide to do something be sure to post pictures! Would love to see it.
