Awe thank you Loxinneed *blushing*
I actually have clients flying from places like Ohio and Arkansas to see me. Funny how they can fly out here, get their hair done, stay for a weekend vacation in a beach hotel and still save a ton of cash. There will be deals in your area too, you just have to find them. I have a 'find a stylist' on my website. That may be a start for you to begin your search. I think Great Lengths has awesome hair, I just think they are very over priced. Another thing is that they advertise how you can wear them up to 6 months and many try to keep them in that long. For 95% of people that's way too long. I personally wear mine for 3 months. Most of my clients go 3-4 1/2 months and i don't recommend going any longer. If you have fine/thin hair you should get a new set at about 3 months. Medium/thick hair can go to around 4 months and thick sturdy hair can typically go a little longer.
I also recommend trying to do them yourself, you can do your whole head for less than $200. If you're set on having them done, try a yahoo or google search with the name of your nearest large city and the words 'hair extensions' you should get a few options from that. You could also check the Yellow Pages. Some salons will have ads in the Yellow Pages and you can always call around. Get some free consultations and check out their before and after photos. All extension artists should have photos of clients they have done. Make sure they are not generic photos and that they are real clients of theirs. A good price on extensions at a salon is between $600- $900 for a full head (not that I think that's a great deal, it's just the lowest I've heard them going for- Keep in mind I live in the "OC" *haha*).
Keep us posted on what you find and take some before and after photos. We love pictures
