What is this, I looked it up in the search and couldn't find where it was explained. Also I just did my first install on my own head and wow, that was difficult.  It probably also didn't help that my puppy really wanted to play and that made laying out hair etc. super difficult.  I used lush hair with the shrinkies and I just couldn't get the tips right to where it doesn't show and burned myself a couple million times.  Anyway, I installed hair on all of my head except my crown and an inch around the edges but I only used about 110-130 strands and so now my hair looks really thin but I don't have any more hair to attach it to.  The pieces of hair I used were the same size as the shrinkie ( or close to it) so I don't know what I did wrong!  If you can help me out I would appreciate it!

the double shrink method is where you pretip with a shrinkie and then install over it with another shrinkie.I did this method and didnt like it.It seemed like a waste of shrinkie's.Pretipping with liquid gold and one shrinkie is plenty of hold.

And if your hair is short you could just need  to add more hair. You have to add alot of hair when going from short to long.I know when I did shrinkie's awhile back I had to put in 400 tips to make my bob length hair not look thin and stringy.

You say you only used 100-130 tips.Sounds to me like you need to use alot less hair from your head.If you filled your head up and only used that amount your strands are probably just too big.

here's a pic of my pretips.I understand some people can use bigger thicker tips. But this is the size that gives me personally the most natural look.

Hm.. I have a med amount of hair and I still need 150 tips. The lush tips are thick compared to most other brands but you could put two in the shrink if your hair is that thick. I do come up high on some of my installs if the top layer of there hair is heavy. I leave a v section out of the crown so that when the crown separates it doesn't show there. I then come up to about an inch from the part on each side. If top layer is still to heavy I thin it a bit with razor or texturing shears. Hold up the top layer of your hair and if the rest looks good and is hiding yours well then you do need more on the top.

Thanks everyone.  I'm going to take them all out and try again during this holiday!  I've gotten a lot of compliments but I am sort of a perfectionist so thanks for all the helpful info!  I'm going to try install using the video camera method.  Wish me luck!
