Hey everyone, nice to meet you guys! I have a question about whether or
not I should try highlights in my hair and along with a certain style
since I'm not quite sure how it would look with my face structure and
those kinds of things. My hair currently I'm pretty much growing out to
get the style I want. My hair looks like this right now:  I just have it up in that picture and I usually have it up in same way similar to that lately, but I recently found a picture of a guy's hair I really like which looks like this:  I like his highlights too, but obviously I'm not as tan as he is, but I'm going tanning so I think that might help some becuase I have a really fair complexion as you can see right now because its winter and all. Do you guys think I'd look fine with my hair like he has it? Or does it just not match with my face shape/structure? I had it once down like he did last year, it wasn't as long its probably as long as I have it right now and I did it like that for the semi and it actually looked pretty good, I got a lot of compliment on it, but it isn't quite like his is either. I really want it personally, but I'm kind of skeptical since mostly its my skin tone I'm worried about, and maybe a little bit of face shape. I'm very pale myself, so I could be biased, but I like the look of pale skin and dark hair. I'd say to stick with that ^_^ . ------------- More awesome than a manatee! |

I also like the look of darker hair on pale skin. I think the way your hair is right now is a really good style. | No unfortunately I don't haha. Mass for me. But thanks for the opinions. Personally, I like it a lot for some reason, I have no idea why though. I may try it though, my hair still isn't long enough yet, I may just get it cut like that but no highlights, but then I may get highlights but not cut it like that I'm still not sure, I think I'd like to try it, I just wasn't sure if it would like terrible on me or not. |

I think the guy's hair looks a bit brittle because I'm guessing he either only bleached his hair and didn't tone his highlights, or they faded. Highlights complement anyone's face, no matter the shape, you just need to figure out if chunky highlights will look good on you. If you decide to go ahead and do it I suggest you don't get them as chunky as his, get them about 1 cm (1/2 in) thick or less. Then if you feel you really like the look and want something bolder you can have them thicker. I do suggest you tone them though, and not just bleach them, try a medium golden blonde after you bleach, which I think will look nice. If you want them lighter than medium blonde, then you can try an 8.3 (light golden blonde), but check the color out in a suppermarket and see what color you'll want them. Just make sure you tone (color with permanent hair dye after you bleach), otherwise it'll look dry and brittle, like the guy's hair. Also, to keep your hair healthy, deep condition once a week, if you go to the beach and you feel you need more moisture, then you can deep condition twice a week and for daily maitenance use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner (this is in case your hair is too dry though, otherwise normal shampoo and conditioner and weekly deep conditioning should be fine or it might weigh you hair down).
