ok, I just classified my hair according to Fia's system. Accordingto
the ineffable goddess of hair wisdommy hair is iii (it has a
circumference of 6'') But I didn't pull it tight tight. Are you meant
to pull it tight or just measure loosely or just round it. I just held
it in a pony with my hand (my hair was loosely braided but their was no
plait in the measurey bit) and wrapped it round. Not tight but not
loose. Is that right? Sorry for such a badly written post.

You two are killing me.  The circumference of my ponytail at the nape is only 3". (And yes,
LadyFrog, you want to tighten it before taking the measurement.)

4 inches here, but it's getting thicker and thicker all the time! I have iii in my sig, but I think I'll make it a ii/iii for now and revise it later. Good question though ladyfrog! I think my hair might also be in between F and M, so that would make me in between on all the categories!!! -------------

Holy Moly is right! This does sound like a possible measuring
error...its hard to get a good measurement without your hair contained
in an elastic because its difficult to hold everything at once.
If you measure again with it contained and get the same,

When I flat iron my hair and measure it I got 4-1/2". My relaxed hair
when not flat ironed is more than that but I forget the exact number.
So my natural hair must be way more than that. But I have 4a hair.

well i did my hair again when it was in a scrunchie and tried again- 4 and 3/4'' this time ah well, least I don't have to bother changing my classification

Mine's only like 3". It was a lot thicker when I was younger, but I was on accutane for a number of years, which causes hair loss. It was a little traumatic for me to lose some of my hair because I was only 10-12. ------------- |

Wow sweet ladies mine is just about 3.5" inches. It must be nice
to have over 6", or even over 4". See ya and keep it growing
