I have hair that is straight and a little past my shoulders.  I like to curl it with hot rollers and it looks awesome.  The problem is the curl only lasts for a very short time.  (like a half hour).  I want to know what to do to keep the curl from falling out.  I have been told to hairspray each section as I am rolling it.  I have also been told to spray it to death when done.  That just seems to make my hair heavy.  Any suggestions?  Thanks for you help!

The only way I know to keep curls that last, is by using a holding spray. I know hair spray can be sticky and make your hair hard and then combing the next day is a bit difficult but it does work to hold curls. Maybe you should try a different brand of hairspray; ones that don’t contain alcohol are better.

I love hotrollers.  I use them on my hair all the time.  I use redken hot set spray and then I spary it with extreme hairspray by redken.   I do as you describe I use the hot sets on each section then I spary my entire head after with the extreme spray.

It is very stiff and it will stay but it wont stay as nice as when it was first done.    It really sucks...I actually posted about this awhile ago how to make hair stay but no real advice :(

What works for me is to use either mousse or gel or thickening spray. The  mousse works the best. I use it after my hair is freshly washed and conditioned and combed out. Try that?
