Hi,

I`m Sara. I`m fifteen and I`m from Belgium. I have thick, uncontrollable, dry, dark blond hair. I had a haircut about 4 weeks ago. I used to have shoulder lenght hair but it was all broken and just way too dry so now my hair is short. About 5 centimeters at the back and 8 front. But now I`m gonna let it grow, at least untill a little past my shoulders, maybe midback.

I`m really not looking forward to the horrible "letting it grow-project" but I really want it, cos my hair will be much prettier when it`s long.

I hope I`ll get through all off the bad hair days!

bye

sara

Hey Sara -

WoW! That is pretty short. Sounds like your hair needs more moisturizer for the dryness.

Think positive about the "letting it grow-project." I have done it twice and it is well worth it.
Be tough. Girl Power!!! ;)

Hi Sara! Welcome to the boards. I undestand your situation. When I was a teenager I had the most beautiful silky brown hair--all one length and halfway down my back. I never really realized how great it was until I dyed my hair about 8 times during my sophomore year in college. The last time I colored it fried my hair to a frizzy crisp. That was about 16 months ago. I`ve been growing out the damage ever since, and I`m keeping my hair at about shoulder length. Personally, I really don`t like this length...I look more mature, which is a good thing with my corporate job....but I think I look far more, well..."exotic" with the long straight hair. So every few months I trim it as it grows out. I have about 6-8 months to go before the damage is completely grown out, at which point I`m going to let it grow! But there are times when I hate having shorter hair, at which point I tel myself, Look. I made a mistake dying my hair. I cut for a good reason: it was fried, coarse and frizzy. I`d rather have shorter, healthy hair. So I can sympathize with you. Just be good to your hair as it grows out and have patience. Try to enjoy your hair no matter what length it is! :-)
