what do you use for moisture? I'm looking for something to use on my daughter's natural 3c/4a hair daily for moisture. Her hair is extra, extra thick and seems to drink up everything I put on it! Mainly I'm looking for something for daily styling to soften her hair and not leave it looking and feeling so dry. ~tia~ ------------- ~~  LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!~~

My brother uses the product called Mayonnaise & Honey Cream Hair Dressing by BB ...I used it once and it worked pretty well, kept it soft and manageable. I hope that information helps. ------------- Natural BC May 9, 2004 |

Qhemet Biologics has great products that a lot of naturals swear by. I ordered the sample pack and it is wonderful. The Amla and Olive heavy cream is a really good softening moisturizer, and the Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm makes my hair so soft and shiny. They are my hg's! She has an Olive cream detangler that is for detangling damp to dry hair and it has worked wonders for a lot of naturals. It softens the hair up so the tangles come right out. i took a 8 0z. spritz bottle and added a little glycerin, then liquid aloe vera, water and a little eo and that works great for me. However if you don't have time to look for the ingredients- Care free curl moisturizer works great too. Hey thanks ya'll. I got the Cantu shea butter cond. cream and tried it out on her hair today. It left it very soft and easy to comb thru. I'm waiting until I take it down tonight to plait it up for bed then I'll see what it REALLY does! Her hair drinks up moisture like nothing so we'll see if it's still moist or dried out ....Cmesweet, I looked at that Mayo & Honey hair dressing too. It smells good. ITA with the Care free curl moisturizer. That stuff works wonders. It makes my hair softer than anything else, almost too soft and it's very moisturizing. I am going to try the glycerin and aloe vera soon though. I just have to get some glycerin. I'm hoping I can find it at CVS. Do you think aloe vera gel would work ok? ------------- |

the thin liquidy aloe vera gel works great as does aloe vera juice and i am sure that fruit of the earth aloe vera gel should work as well but let me know how it turns out,k. I'm half natural/half texturized (transitioning) with 3c/4a hair. The thing that works best for my hair is V05 conditioners, either regular, or moisture milks. The body building/hydrators/other don't do the job. I put it straight in very damp hair on just like any other leave-in with a small amount of olive oil. It keeps my hair UBER moisturized and suprisingly gives a great, soft hold and curl definition. Plus it's cheap and smells great. It's worth a shot! It's not good if you're sraightening/rollersetting your hair though, but it's the only thing to use imo for twistouts and wash and gos. |

Also... all of Ms mocha's suggestions work well for me, though none as good as my vo5. It's important to apply all of them on wet hair and to apply only a small amount of oil. |
