My natural hair color is a very ashy dark blonde.  It's a very bland and dull color.  A few months ago I had my overall color lightened and then chunky highlights added via bleach.  Now it's been so long and quite a few inches of my natural color are showing,  along with the lighter blonde and highlights.

My question is,  is it possible to succesfully make my hair all one color? (I want to go to a light, warm brunette color, possibly with non-bleach based highlights)  What I am worried about is paying a lot of money for a salon to attempt this and then end up with basically the same "two-tone" hair but with different shades of color over it...  Here is a pic so you can see what my hair looks like now:

I am about to leave for the salon in an hour or so,  I will ask them also of course,  I just wanted to see what input anyone might have here.  Thanks!

It's possible, shouldn't be too complicated, but I don't know the technicalites.
What did your salon say?

Well, it turned out to be no problem at all (so far at least).  It was pretty much a standard color + highlight session at the salon.  Here are some pics of how things turned out:

That's great, looks natural!  They've done a lovely job.
That's the kind of brown colour I'm after when I've got all the black out of my hair, but without the highlights.  I could never have highlights because I'm a poor student who can't afford to go to the salon all the time !!!

By the way I think the brown suits you much better too.

Funny -- I would have called that color a dark blonde, not brown, but regardless it's very pretty! Great color!

I call it brown and I think it's pretty. My friend and I used to argue all the time about the difference between dark blond and light brown.
