Ok so I know why my hair went black again over the bleach...I tried to dye it dark brown, my hair was too porous, I should have chosen a much lighter shade of brown.

Question:  When you use a hair stripper/remover, does this get rid of bleach too?  Can you even strip over bleach?  Bearing in mind my hair was bleached 4 months ago to lighten my hair, since then it's had about 6 dyes over it, and I will have about 4/5 inches of non-bleached roots.

Also, if I strip my hair this time to get rid of black (again!) and my hair is so porous that I have choose a light brown instead of medium, will my hair with bleach under go darker but my blonde roots stay light....because that would be annoying.?

Colorfix is the only stripper you should use.  It only strips the hair down to where the hair was previously bleached or lifted with single process color.

Yes, you can strip over bleach, but when you add a very dark color sometimes it becomes impossible to achieve a light pale blonde shade again.  The hair will need to grow out.

"will my hair with bleach under go darker but my blonde roots stay light....because that would be annoying.?"

It's possible.  Only a strand test will tell.  There may be a color you can find that will even up the entire head, but you have to strand test the colorfix first to see what you can get on the ends and then decide what you can do with the roots based on that?  Does that make sense?

Has anyone heard about Rusk Elimin8?  From what I have heard it is very similar to Color Fix~ meaning it disolves oxidated colours in hair so they are washed out~ as opposed to stripping and bleaching them out like other colour removers.

The reason I ask/suggest it is because I have read posts from other people in the UK who seem to have a difficult time finding Color Fix over there.  It sounds like Elimin8 does the job the same way as Color Fix and would 'less damaging' the way Color Fix is... if it was the only alternative available over there.

The only other one that I have heard is less damaging would be Schwarzkopf Phantom (used to be called Modulat).

(Disclaimer!!!!  And of course I am by no means a professional~ I have just been researching colour removers for almost two weeks straight and have picked up some info on the topic!!!  Just hoping to suggest some alternatives if Color Fix cannot be had :)

Well, I have no choice in the matter but to use Goldwell System Color Remover, which does the same as Colorfix (only removes oxidative tints), but it's professional, so probably more damaging.  That's what people say anyway.

I can't get Colorfix ANYWHERE here, apart from at Sallys, but I can't get down there, too far away.  And they don't do phone or mail orders which is really annoying.

I'd say, if you can get Colorfix - DO.  But if you can't, get something that is the lesser of two evils.
