And yes, I acknowledge most anybody would.  But let's get back to answering my question. 

First off, where would I start to even be able to style it this way?  What products would work to give it a look that's not too wet, more precisely, well how would I be able to closely style it this way. 

My method is just to begin shooting in hairspray and blow drying which leaves me with problems since the hairspray goes all over the place anbd hardens area's that don't need hardening yet.  Where would I begin to make things easier to style?  And what can I do about cleaning up the already hardened spots?  Basically does anybody have any tips for keeping this do in place as well that's more effective and efficient (other than using a quarter bottle of hairspray?) 

I wouldn't start with hairspray since what you will have to do is goop it, then brush it to get it dry looking, then goop it again for hold (because hairspray tends to flake easily and that can show).  I'd use gel first and just put it from the root down maybe 2 inches and shape it upwards...you'll have to experiment to see how little you can get away with using, if you use too much it creates problems).  Then after its dry, brush it out, sculpt it the way you want it (it should be pointed generally the direction you want) then spray it lightly and from far away and don't touch it after you spray it (to keep it looking dry). You can add more spray for better hold but let it dry between coats without touching it to keep it dry looking.

Good luck with that, I'm not exactly sure how they got it quite so pointy on the ends, yet still dry looking.  Maybe an application of lighter goop (like mousse on the ends?) that gets combed out, then shaped before spraying.  That's quite a sculpted style (impressive).

^Ahh, yes as I suspected, the dry pointed ends are almost impossible if not impossible to do since that image is a computer generated image.  Though that's nto to say that the style itself can't be immitated(maybe not emulated) I'm sure.  Thanks a lot for your tips, and again you've been most helpful Susan :).  Just a question, by gooping you mean gel right?

Computer generated, really?  I couldn't tell at all!  Yeah, by goop I meant use gel around the roots for heavy stickyness (meaning the hair sticking to itself and in positions, even if its dry later not sticky) and when I said goop later I meant maybe try mousse for a light stickiness on the ends.

haha yes, it's about the latest and most impressive Japanese animations to be released.  It has yet to come out in America(although soon coming) and is really quite a sight to see(If you're into action flicks that is), since the fighting scenes are unreal.  But just viewing the moving graphics itself will put you in awe, from the costume designs, to the reflections in the metals, to the scenery and to the characters hair-do's.  There's a trailer on the website if you're interested :D.   

Haha but anyways, will teh gel just dry up and well, be more managable to sticking up even if it just dries in a different position?

I'm just having a tremendous amount of trouble trying to sculpt the back of my hair.  Moreso around the top back head area.  Do you any tips to make it easier?
