I was told by the supplier that they had a very thin lining but that it is not enough to base your entire bond on. I've had my extensions in for about 10 weeks now and I have 4oz of hair installed with this brand of shrinkies and I've lost only 8 or 9 bonds (not too bad especially because I installed them myself) . All of the hair I installed is of the new D-LUX brand. Here are some update pictures of my hair I took on Thursday January 5th so you can see how it's holding up. I'll take some pictures of my shrinkie bonds this afternoon and add them to this thread so you can check out how those are growing out as well.

Awe thanks ladies, I just got the full line of it up on the site. The hair is straight but I've been curling it with a Connair 1" curling iron after I wash it and the curl holds for the 3-4 days between my washes. By the way, the curl holds so well that I can get it curled like the pictures above in 15min flat. That by far was enough for me fo fall in love with it. I've been stopped at the grocery store, the mall, and even by an old man at Home Depot yesterday telling me how beautiful my hair is

If anyone wants a sample of the hair I'd be happy to send you out a few strands. Just let me know your shipping address along with the color you're looking for and if you want stick or keratin-tipped hair (or both). I'll send out some sample packs first thing on Monday. Please email me here: mailto:Info@YourHairShop.com - Info@YourHairShop.com

aninnina: I've always had problems with my PM on this site  Try emailing me at the address above.

I'll still take a few pictures of the bonds tonight and post them in this thread so check back to see what my growth looks like

Hiya! The D-Lux hair looks so nice! Does it only come in the fingernail tip? I'd like to use with shrinkies..how did you get it in there? Did you cut and pretip small enough to get it in the shrinkies? I swear I'm starting a collection of hair in the closet. I hang it from pant hangers too so it doesn't tangle. My husband says it looks like "Buffalo Bills Closet" and creeps him out. AH HA HA. Boys.

I'm not being funny Fan but you can't really assess hair after only having 7 strands in.

The shrinkies that Kristen has do hold with keratin tipped hair but won't with anything else.  I agree x

Awe darn I missed the banned story too... shucks....

Sorry for my delay in posting but I got stuck in LA yesterday after dancing the night away next to Paris & Nikki Hilton... WoO HoO!

Here are the pictures:

I used all of the stick hair and only about 2 1/2 bundles of the mixed color in Keratin tip. For more information on my install I made a thread about it 9 weeks ago here:

http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=36980&KW=install - http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=36980 &KW=install

Here's the pictures of my shrinkies close up (these are the brand listed on YHS). I didn't have any problems with them sliding out and I only lost the few I did when I was brushing out my freshly washed wet hair. Sorry my roots are a little nappy but they've been in for about 10 weeks now. Check out how well I was able to keep my roots bleached even with the extensions in.

http://photobucket.com/albums/v619/kbreul/?">dlux10weeks001_wm.jpg   http://photobucket.com/albums/v619/kbreul/?">dlux10weeks009-wm.jpg

Here's a picture of the curling iron I've been using. It's a 1" Connair and only about $12 at Walmart. I don't use the open lever/arm thing (is there a correct term for that piece??). Instead I grab a small section of my hair and wrap it around the barrel. I don't like having the very end of my hair curled so as you can see my left hand is holding the last 1"- 1 1/2" of hair away from the curling iron.

http://photobucket.com/albums/v619/kbreul/?">dlux10weeks015_wm.jpg

I curled it extra special for you ladies yesterday because I knew I would be taking some pictures. This curl job took me 20 minutes flat. Here's the finished product:

http://photobucket.com/albums/v619/kbreul/?">dlux10weeks013_2_wm.jpg

I just had my boyfriend snap another picture of the back of my hair again tonight. It's 1:30 am and it's been more than 30 hours now since I curled it in the above picture (and that includes a long night in LA- haha). Here's what the curl has fallen to:

http://photobucket.com/albums/v619/kbreul/?">dlux270_1.jpg

This hair comes from Asia (so does Bohyme by the way). I have the keratin-tipped hair listed on YHS and I'm going to get the stick hair added to the site tomorrow.

I saw that someone had asked about how this hair compared to Bohyme- they are definately from different companies and the affair I've had with Bohyme for the last 4 years won't burn out quickly but I really was impressed with this hair. I've been just as happy with this install as I was with any Bohyme install I've done. I'm planning on taking it all out at the 3 month mark and installing a new full head of the same 22" hair with some different colors.

I hope everyone had a great weekend

~Kristin

Kristen, your hair as absolutly gorgeous!!!

You should have given Paris your business card, I have seen some bad extensions on her, or at least she was having a bad night!!

Are we going to see you in the tabloids????

I would love to see that hair on a weft also, does it come that way???

WOW! So Pretty! I love it!

So you snipped the fusion hair in half so it would fit in the shrinkies?

You just tap in on the want to heat it and roll with your fingers into shoelace tips? I'm going to give this hair a whirl for sure.

Thanks for the pics!

Kristin, that is some sweet hair! I like how you're offering it in 3 different
styles of coloring, too. Are the D-Lux colors close to the color
#'s of the Bohyme color ring?

OT, but DANG, you are tan, girl! I'm the poster girl for Alaska, sooooo
pale..... must be nice having direct sunlight where you live. ^_^

Damnit, I always miss the good stuff (who got banned?  huh?)

Anyways, Kristen you hair looks amazing after having them in for 10 weeks.  It also grows out so nice, mine always tangles when growing out.

aimee: I am working on getting the wefts in stock but I do not have them available at this time. The longest length I have is 22" but the company I order from does carry longer lengths. I'll check into the longer lengths next time I contact the company and see what i can do.

gsmilie: haha.... actually there's a slight (very slight) possibility that you might see me in the background of of a tabloid picture. There were lots of Paparazzi there snapping pictures outside the club when it was over. If you see any pictures from Club Privilege in LA on Jan 7th check for me   I was hoping Paris would say my hair was 'hot' (haha just kidding). Paris is still taking a break for her extensions  and that was the first time I had seen that Nikki was back to being blonde...

Tjoh99: No, I installed the stick hair which I also have in stock. I was swamped today with clients so I didn't get a chance to post it but I'll do my best to get it up tomorrow.

Kimberly: The colors are practically indentical to Bohyme. I actually used one of their rings to make my entire order. The only color that isn't on the Bohyme ring is the #X24.       p.s. tanning salons are a dime a dozen here in the OC

Kalika: My sides stay pretty nice but I do have some matting going on in my lower layers... It's hard to avoid... *sigh*

Kristin - I can't believe it - you moved over from Fusion to Shrinkies! How would you compare the 2?? And of course I have to say - you and your hair look AWESOME!!

OK NOW MY QUESTION - WHAT WILL THE SHRINKIE REMOVAL BE LIKE??

I've had really bad luck with Shrinkie removal - the shrinkie turns into a ball and feels like it's getting rolled into my hair, and there's glue all over the place, and I have to end up using glue remover anyway. . .

Advice on shrinkie removal??

Thanks -

Kristin!

your hair looks so dark its amazing you can get it sooo blonde!! (the underneath photo)

Does it not damage your hair very much when you bleach it? because it looks great!

My hair is REALLY dark also!

FinaFina: shocking huh???? I can't believe it myself that I have so many shrinkies installed. I've always been very pro-fusion. On my next install I'll probably do all keratip hair because I haven't lost a single one of those bonds and I've had zero shedding. What can I say- I love fusion. I still think its sad that fusion has gotten some bad reviews, I really think they can all be attributed to how they were installed, maintained, or left in way too long. Most methods don't last longer than 3 months which makes them hard to wear too long. Because the bond with fusion is so sturdy people tend to leave them in WAY too long! It's really sad. Done the right way, fusion is wonderful in my opinion.

As for your shrinkie removal, will crunch the bond with some ridged pliers and then hold my root with one hand as I pull from the very end of the extension with the other. It it does not slide off I apply 1-2 drops of acetone and repeat the above steps. They all come out fine. I have bleached hair and the acetone doesn't hurt my hair so you might try it.

frantic463: If you want the stick hair just order the keratip and write in the note/comment section of your order that you want stick hair and I'll get it right out to you.   p.s. when are you going to the Bahamas? Did you see my reply post that myself and a client of mine were watching you on MTV when you cut your hair off? Great job!

Shel221: Wouldn't that have been great! I'd do her hair for free in return for a picture with her to post on my website   I'd love to do Britney's too but I have a feeling that she wouldn't take care of it and it would look like crap- I don't want that reputation. Britney if you're reading this- run a comb through your hair once or twice a day... it does wonders! haha.

Oh no- here comes the all natural pic:

Yikes!!! This picture was taken 7 years ago, one of the last few with my natural brown hair. I go to a great stylist/friend up in the city of Cypress here in California and she paints the bleach on my scalp every 5 weeks or so. She's good at not overlapping so my hair has gotten very healthy. Even with the extensions I haven't had any problems. If you're in Southern California I can give you her number
