Thanks to all my forums pals who have been supporting me since I had my 'lowlights'/ brown haircolour disaster around Christmas that just passed :)

Update time!

As you know~ I have bleached blonde hair~ and have had for MANY years~ and loved it!  Had a nightmare on December 22, 2005 when an evil hair colourist took it upon herself to darken my hair and coloured it brown and put lowlights in without my consent. (She said she thought we should "add a few lowlights in to add 'dimension' "~ that's all.  Grrr.)

Anyway~ I was devastated.  Really, really upset by this and really wanted my pale blonde hair back.  I hated it so much that I really didn't feel like I looked like 'myself'.  So basically my immediaite plan was to get my blonde hair bask~ ASAP!  I had intended to do that job on my own because I no longer trusted a salon to do so.

Thankfully I found this forum and received some great advice, support and input from all the wonderful people on here.

Because I had some breakage in June 2005 from overlapping bleach, I am and have been really concerned about damaging my hair any further.  That is a large part of the reason why I decided I should find a salon that could help me to get my blonde hair colour back in the least damaging method.

SO~ I made an appointment at a local salon that had re-touced my roots sucessfully 18 months ago (but the colourist is now gone so I had a new gal to the job~ their 'senior colourist').  That appointment was this afternoon~  When I met the new colourist, 'Jenn', I liked her right away.  She is a lightened blonde as well and understood how upset I was at having my blonde hair darkened like that.  She also understands about damage from bleach, etc.

I explained the entire situation to her, history, you name it.  After going through all that, today she did what she called a 'flash toner' in order to lighten my lengths to a lighter blonde.  My roots need to be done because the colourist on Dec 22 obviously didn't do anything to lighten them (as she simply did some lowlights here and there when she darkened my hair).  The colourist today didn't do my roots though~ she explained that we needed a bit more length and that we can get my lengths to the correct colour and in two weeks when it is time to do my roots, so we can lighten them to the correct colour to match my lengths.   Two weeks and I get my roots done ~ Yay!

Overall~ I am happy~ very happy~ with what she did today and have a good feeling that she just might become my regular colourist~ (I'll decide after she has done my roots and I see how light she gets me).

Anyway~ here is where we are at~

My hair in June 2005, just prior to the breakage~ and basically what my goal is again for colour and length (maybe just a bit longer)~ below:

The back of my tonight after seeing the new colourist and having the 'flash toner'~ below:

And this is what my hair was on December 02 2005~ right before the evil colourist got her hands on it and tricked me~ below:

Sorry~ I have no photos of the brown colour with the lowlights because I simply hated it so much I didn't want any pictures taken of me :(

I will post more photos after I see the colourist again in two weeks when we do my roots and lighten the colour AGAIN!

Thanks again for all the advice and support!

T.

I really like the picture you posted of what the stylist did too.   I bleached my hair on my own when I was in highschool and also had breakage...I was heartbroken.

Find a good stylist and stick with her...it looks like she is doing a great job

Thank you~ Now the key is to just keep anyone away from it who

a) doesn't know what they are doing with bleach

b) wants to colour it any colour but pale blonde (ie: brown, etc)

c) who thinks an inch is actually closer to half a foot!

*laughing*~ Thanks again!

Guess  ya just gotta get REALLY tough with em! My aunt never has a complaint and she's one of the tough ones (she goes for the blonde also). Maybe you have to be over 60 and cranky though, for it to work. LOL!

Oh, and P.S. I also think your hair looks really nice!

Could someone find out what the flash toner was?
