My hair is very dry even though I use conditioner, I shampoo twice a week and I put fructis serum afterwards when my hair is almost dry, it helps a lot but still my hair only has an acceptable level of moisture after two days of leaving my hair mostly behind my ears.. which still dries rather quickly when I leave it free. Any help is appreciated.

Hi KindofCurly,

It might not even be dryness. It could be the feeling of coarseness and dryness from the serum. Fructis contains a lot of http://www.hairboutique.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=30010&PN=1 - silicones  which requires "refreshing the system" with some clarifying shampoo or vinegar rinse. I would try a diluted vinegar rinse first before any product or routine change (I use 1/4 cup vinegar with 2 cups water, poured through hair)

If it is dryness, you could also consider adding a new, cheap, light conditioner to your routine (shampoo, conditioner light, conditioner regular)

May sound a strange question but when should you apply vinegar? Before you wash or after shampooing? And do you literally use it as a rinse?

I use it after my "wash" step (in your case, it would be shampoo), then condition as usual. Wash, vinegar, condition. I literally pour it onto my scalp and let it run down the length. Don't get it in your eyes because it burns

Similar to what Anais said: I would use a leave-in conditioner in addition to the one you use in the shower. (I'm saying add the leave-in after you're out of the shower and before combing out your hair. I really like L'anza Leave-in Protector. It's nice and thick. It seems like all the others are thin and watery and don't do much good. L'anza's the only one I know like that. I'm sure there are others; I just haven't done the research. My hair's the same way if I don't use the extra conditioner.
