I (tragically) have hair like this football player, both in texture and receding hairline.

He's lucky; he can just put on his helmet...I can't.

What style would work with this hair?  (male, 49 yr old, professional)

Thanks

I'd go with short, I think short styles look best with receding hairlines, and receding hairlines look just fine.  Ultra short often works too, to the point that its shaved or almost shaved if you have a strong jaw (remember James Carville and Jean Luc Picard (star trek's Patrick Stewart) are both generally considered handsome). That said, its all just a personal opinion and you should go with what you want when choosing your own hairstyle).

go very short, bruce willis style

people know that you have receding hair line, keeping it short will make you look great while still keeping it real

FOR GOD SAKES DONT DO THE COMB OVER OR TRY TO GROW BACK OF YOUR SKULL HAIR LONGER< IT WILL ONLY ELEVATED THAT YOU ARE BALDING

(fewh... that was a screamer)

To me it looks more neater. When you have hair with a receating hairline it makes you look older.
