hi all i hope this isn't a dumb question....when i put a heat protectant in my hair before i blowdry it do i have to put it on again to straighten my hair with a straightening iron? i have been putting a heat protectant on before i use my CHI but my hair ends up sticky and like i never washed it so just wondering thanks....

Which heat protectant are you using? I wouldn't continue with that if it's making your hair "sticky." The one I use is a pray conditioner and protectant. I apply it before I blowdry and after I straighten. Makes my hair softer.

actually i am using Redken spray starch but i think since i put it in right before i did the striaghtening iron i was getting too much build-up cause of putting it in before i blow-dry then when i am getting ready to iron my hair.

Yeah, apply the stuff while your hair is still damp. Then blowdry or dry your hair the way you usually do it ( Perfer blowdrying it, makes it silkier). Now you can iron.
