Hey all, I think I have a pretty decent hair care regime, but it ocurred to me that I don't use heat protectant. I flat iron only when I shampoo, which right now is 1X per week. Those of you that use heat, do you use protectant and if so, what kinds? Thanks in advance for your advice... |

I like Beyond the Zone's Turn Up the Heat, heat protectant. I even use it when Im not flat ironing. It makes my hair so soft and it adds shine. It's very lightly oiled so I like to spray a lot in. Heat protectants are important if you use heat often. They help protect your hair from heat damage (frying your hair) and therefore split-ends/breakage. I have to agree as well, you should use it when appling heat. I use BTZ (on dry hair) and Paul Mitchell Heat protectant (on wet hair). Both work great. ------------- |

girl,, u better start using a heat protectant,, lol it will provide a barrier between the iron and ur hair and also diffuse the heat or something lol im not sure how they work,, i use Fantasia IC spray in a pink bottle,, the Beyond the Zone is quite similar but i find it to be more heavy buit it contains less silicones ... ------------- Hair type: 3b some c?, fine strands, last relaxer sept 05, never again!!! current :ap length on sides,,nearly bsl in back, damn those old frazzled ends! I am hair OBSESSED |

I'm still searching for the best heat protectant. I have BTZ and Fantasia IC but I feel like both leave my hair too greasy, although I do tend to overspray because I get paranoid. I don't flatiron very often but when I do, I try to use either those or last time, I let my hair airdry with mango butter and then i flatironed.
