I have Virgin hair and I was wondering If i dyed it a semipermanent hair color in black will it fade away in 28 shampoos? I know black hair dye is the worst to get out but since its not a pemanent dye I thought to give it a try? any suggestions? Thanks alot.

Well, what color is your hair naturally? It will make a difference if your hair is in good shape or not. It would tend to be more permanent on dry and/or damaged hair. It's funny -- black is the worst to get out yet for someone who wants it to last it's also hard to keep it nice and virbrant! You should always do a strand text anyway, but if you are very patient you could do one and wait a few weeks and see how it fades ...

your hair won't be the same color it was before, even when the black is faded out... it will be darker and much duller.  and it's a PAIN in the ass to get out... you'll most likely end up having to spend tons of $$ in a salon for a corrective color if you decide you dont want the black anymore.

Hmm...My natural hair color is Med. Brown. So I guess even if its a non permanent hair color, becuz the color is blk it wont fade out. I dont want to spend tons of $$$ and damage my hair thats y i  thought its its a semipermanent it wont be as bad.  But is it as bad as a permanent hair dye? I guess I'll do a strand test then. Thanks for all of your advice!

Oh no, permanent black hair dye is the worst - it's impossible to budge on any hair, without bleach or colour remover that is.  I dyed my hair blue/black (from light blonde virgin hair!) and it has taken me about 6 months to get it down to an almost nice brown (that is, without salon help - can't afford it).  Fortunately I never wanted my blonde back, but if I did, by now I'd have completely over-processed hair from all the colour correcting.

If your hair's a little dark already, then your hair probably wont suck up the dye as much as blonde hair does.  Definitely do strand tests, vary the process times, try and work out if it'll suit you.  To be honest though semi-perm black will wash out a lot.
