I have sinusitis and washed my hair sat night and
was gonna flat iron it sunday but decided to wait till
tonite,, ill be starting in like 10 mins
lol it takes hours (esp becuz im wearing 3 tracks and i
have all the hair on top and in between loose)
anyway i had to go to the doc today and i almost
wasnt gonna go,, thats how awful my hair is air dried
,, its so dry , so frizzy and crispy, YUCK,, and i have
alot of still relaxed hair and very underprocessed hair
which i think is a bad thing too,, i dunno but its
almost making me wanna relax again in 6 mths to a
year just so i wont have to deal with this never
ending frizz no matter what leave in i use,, it seems
like i must flat iron or my hair is just a haystack if its
airderied,, anyone know a solution for this??

          | Maybe if you cut all of the relaxed hair off? Is your natural hair dry
too? Maybe it's dry from flat ironing it all of the time?

          | Well, how are you air drying your hair.....like is it hanging loose or in a bun or a braid?  My hair takes wayyyy to long to air dry so that's why I hardly ever do it, lol.  I have been getting a lot of success by washing and wrapping my hair and sitting under the hair dryer for an hour.  When i take it down it's straight but not silky smooth straight, it's very easy to flat iron after you wrap because your hair is already semi-straight.  Right now I'm trying to cut down on heat so I'm just wrapping and verrrrry lightly blow drying for only a couple minutes, then I slick it back in a bun and when I take it down it has pretty waves/curl to it.   Have you tried applying a moisturizer or some oil to your damp hair?  This should help some.  Sometimes I air dry my hair in two braids and before I braid it up I use some type of moisturize.  Also, Softsheen's Carefree curl in the spray bottle makes my hair softer than anything I've ever used.  It's awsome, I couldn't stop touching my hair cuz it didn't feel like mine.  I'm not sure how this would work if you use it before flat ironing though because I've never done it.  HTH, and don't relax your hair girl!.....lol

thanx Pokahantas,, i airdry in a bun and the next day
when my hair is dry i find that it feels crispy,, i use
Nioxin bliss leave in and for the whole time my hair
is damp it feels fine, but once its dry
lol anyway i bought some aloe, veg. glycerin and distilled water
at the health store so im gonna see if that might
work better than a store bought leave in,, and I will
NOT be relaxing lol,, thats why my poor hair is crisp
in the first place,, the majority of my hair is natural
and its quite soft! but the relaxed hair is right on top
cuz thats how i did it lol and so it would seem that all
my hair is crispy but its really just the top of my head,,
OOh and that Carefree curl stuff,, i will be looking into
even though i dont wear my hair curly , im tempted to
try that,, im a total product junkie, lol BTW you are my
hair idol! becuz ur hair is similar to mine and i know
its possible to get back to my maximum length
since urs is so long ,, by taking good care and No
chemicals,, everytime i think about relaxing ,, i stay
remembering Pokahantas from Hairboutique lol and
im like Hell No ,, im staying natural

          | Lol , I'm glad to help and be an inspiration.  You are on the right track with your hair.  When I was transitioning I didn't know what the heck I was doing, lol.  The glycerin should help a lot with moisture and softness.  I'm not sure how it will work for flat ironing though, I've been meaning to try that.  If you spray the glycerin mixture or the Carefree curl on before you put your hair in a bun I'm sure it will come out really soft and moisturized.  Do you like blow drying or air drying better?  I'm sure your hair is more healthy since you aren't blow drying and flat ironing.  Let us know how the glycerin works out.
