What vitamins do you take?

Which do you think is having the most effect on your hair growth?

I'm taking a few now, and hope that I'll begin to see results at least by November of this year. Some of the vitamins I'm taking are for general health, some are for hair.

I'm taking:

A hair vitamin with lots of Biotin

Chlorophyll

Fish Oil

Evening Primrose Oil

Chromium

Silica

Kelp

Hawthorn Berries

Hi there. :)

I'm taking Vitamin E, Calcium, and MSM. I also take a multivitmin for general well being. For me, Calcium really helps my hair out.

I'm not totally one hundred percent sure on this... but I'm currently taking a nutrition class, and the dietitian teaching the course warned us that taking fish oil supplements really doesn't do anything for your body (never mind hair growth), and you should be able to obtain the same long chain fatty acids you desire from the fish oil with the evening primrose supplements... and she also wanted us to keep in mind that even though you're taking a supplement, oils still give 9 kcal/g regardless.

Sorry for the useless information! I'm applying it because I have an exam on it tomorrow.

And I don't take any vitamins or supplements, even though I probably should for health and hair reasons, but I just can't afford it.

Thanks for that, but I've already bought them, so I may as well take them.

I take evening primrose.

Maybe when I finish the bottle of fish oil pills, I can use the money to buy something else instead....maybe spirulina pills.

1000 mcg Biotin per day

1000 mg MSM per day

I've been taking Biotin daily since Nov 04
and MSM daily since Jan 05
The amounts have gone up and down but were always low.

I got at least 6 inches of growth last year but I don't know if these made that happen or not? We'll just see what happens this year.

Hi Renata,

Here's what I take (modified again, recently); I've added what I believe is the primary purpose or benefit of each:

1 generic daily multi vit/min - (health)
1 Vitamin Discount Center "Hair, Skin & Nails" - (health)
1 Vitamin Discount Center Saw Palmetto 160 mg - (health)
1 GNC Triflex (500 mg glucosamine, 400 mg chondroitin sulfate, 300 mg MSM) - (joints)
1 Solaray Horsetail Shavegrass 440 mg - (reduces hair fallout)
1 GNC Green Tea Extract 315 mg - (health)
1 GNC Biotin 600 mcg - (increases hair growth rate)
2 zinc tablets 50 mg - (skin health, helps hair pigmentation)

Hope this helps.

P.S. Holly - your hair looks amazing!
