I'm going to be getting a toner from a friend of a friend, who is a  hairdresser. What kind of toner should I use on the blonde?
I want to tone it and then go in later and get almost black pieces put in my hy hair. I want my hair to be a nice color before I go so the hairdresser doesn't have a fit.... :)

Also, I use so much ash in my hair it actually lookslike ash. I bleached my roots again and some of the orange parts of my hair and put in a extra light ash by Loreal' Blonde Supreme. I like the two front pieces and got them rather white but I need to break up some of the color. Is there a blonde color, maybe a tad darker that I could use all over my hair to make it a bit darker without getting a color build up?

I don't know where to go from ash...

I don't know much about toners.....I never really had to use them, but I do have a question. Have you thought about using professional colors bought at a beauty supply? They're really not much more expensive than OTC boxes at the drug store and you can mix and match colors to get the proper tone.

Well I'm going to post a photo. I like the color it is right now. I don't want to fiddle with it. I'm bleaching my root area now and the too orange parts. In natural light it looks really light and in artifical it's more of an ashy color.
So I think having a toner handy would help a-lot. My hair color is mutliple. Underlying is darkblonde and black and the top is platinum/ash and honey. It looks a little too yellow now.
I dunno...
  1. i've lifted a lot of the orangy colors from it but I want to tone down the rest taht are througout my hair.
  2. :)

Thank you. I'm really liking it. However some of the lights at work don't do it much justice. Which bugs me. I just have to try and avoid them I suppose. I've lost alot of the color in my hair, so I think my hair has gone pretty much glass colored. Which rocks... I like it anyways.

BE CAREFUL WITH TONERS!!!  stay away from "V" toners... if you leave them in longer than a MINUTE you will end up with parts of your hair that actually look gray... or even slightly purple.  because your hair is so blonde, its going to suck up whatever you put in fast... so get a bottle of toner that you can use more than once if necessary --- not on the same day... seriously the first time you use your toner, only leave it in for literally 1 minute and see how the results look... if youre not satisfied, try again in a few days but only with another minute...

good luck... a lot of people think toners dont have much effect if only left in for 5 mins or so but on light blonde hair like ours, they can be a disasterrr!  if you end up having problems with it turning gray or purpley, there are only a few solutions (throwing a more golden permanent all over your head/goin darker...etc) trust me i had issues with an level 11V toner and ended with a golden/brassy blonde that took me 2 months to fix... ahh!!!  finally im back to normal!

^ ^ ^ just to clarify, the 11V didnt give me the brassy tone... it was the permanent color i had to throw over it to cover the gray and purple that left me brassy and an ugly golden... blegh

I have a dark greyish color nwo due to the fact I put in black, my light blonde sucked it up. It'll wash out eventually.
What kind of golden could I do that wouldn't leave it brassy?

This is what I got. I really like it. .. I dont' like "GOLDEN" blondes cause they seem too.... well brassy for my taste. But i def need to add some punch back into the ends. And it could also be the black that's making it seem like the ends are grey.
In natural light it looks fine. It looks like  my hair goes from dark, to light to melting into the black. Pretty spiffy... but I still need a little toner I think. Or I'll just add a little diffrent blonde color in.
