Yuck...   What a mess...

I am trying to get my roots the color of the rest of my hair but I can't.  I have tried hightlighting with a cap and using L'oreal Cremelights and then tone with Redken EQ 6N and I get this...

which I think is too orange.  Any suggestions?  I would like just to use one process but from what I understand, I cannot lift my dark hair to this level in one process.  Am I wrong?  Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe I am using the wrong toner.   I used a 6 neutral because the highlights are light yellow but maybe I should use an blue base or something to counter the orange?  But doesn't blue and yellow make green?  I'm confused...

thanks

I like the EQ 6N! I don't think it looks too orange.....of course I can't see your skin tone though.

I agree, it doesn't look too orange to me -- unless the monitor just isn't showing it (?). I like it.
