This might sound like a silly question but do i need a special wand to install shrinkies or can i use my flat ceramic hair iron ?

I would suggest the heat wand, they get alot hotter than a flat iron.

You can use a ceramic flat iron, but Sherrie is right, you need to make sure it heats up enough.

In the Mark Barrington class, to install his shrink links they give you a baby flat iron that Rusk makes.  It works ok, but I prefer a dual sided fusion wand because it gets hotter and therefore I have found the shrinkies stay in the hair better.  Also a fusion wand is smaller, thus less chance of you burning your client's head.
