This is a $505 order from indianhairs.com, including shipping.  I bought 1# of 26" long curly on the machine weft, and 1# of 32" long straight on the handtied weft.

When the hair first arrived, I wont lie, I was dissapointed.  It was very bushy, didnt look at all attractive, and smelled a bit odd.  Some of the hair was a bit underweight (the average weight is about 3 1/2 oz as opposed to the 4) and the hair was a but short, of the 32" long hair only 1 packet faithfully made it that far, the rest were about an inch short and the ends vary sparse.  of the 26" long hair, 2 packs measured up, the other was closer to 24".  Regardless, I wasn't happy.

Well anyways, I threw the hair in the back of the closet for a while and finally got around to dealing with this hair last night.  I took them all out and got a good look.  From what has been mentioned before, I expected a lot of nits but I found very very few, and 1/2 the packs didnt have any.  took me all of 30 minutes to remove the small amount that was there.

I then washed the hair with a good moisturizing shampoo and cut about 1 1/2" - 3" off the ends of every bundle.  I soaked all the bundles in a bowl of conditioner overnight.  I then rinsed and did a second conditioner treatment with a combination of 2 conditioners, one a moisturizing repair, the second a glossy silicone one.  This I let soak for about 2 hours.  I did a final rinse and combed through them all, and hung them up.

I then treated them all with biosilk, a spray in conditioner, and a light spray on glosser.  Combed it through a final time and let them up to air dry.  After they were dry I brushed through 1 more time and this is what you see below.

All I can say is, holy sh*t.  This was a diamond in disguise.  I honestly thought the hair was trash but after that TLC, its some of the softest, silkiest hair I've ever ran my fingers through.  This picture seriously doesnt do it justice.  One of the packets of hair is a bit coarser then the others, but still very soft.  Overall I am extremely pleased with this hair, even though it was a little shorter and lighter in weight then advertized, it's well worth the money.  But I wouldnt bother getting the "curly", as its just the slightest bit more wavy then the "straight".

P.S. I typed this rather fast and apologize in advance for any horrible typo's/grammar issues

Beautiful!! I have to say that I have been ordering from them for a while now and I love there hair. Just as you found out it just needs conditioning and then its great. I wish all my clients were brunette so I could use it on them all!! I will only color it to a level 4 or darker. I find that once I color it all the nits have come off. Not that there were that many. I have only ordered straight but after seeing yours I will order the curly for my spring install:) Since its so cheep I color it and pre tip and charge for it but it still comes out cost effective for my clients.

Shweeeeet! That is some incredibly long hair! Does hair that long even actually grow "curly" all the way down? It's definitely a nice wave though. Good score!

wow - beautiful...i heard from the BHM boards that indianhairs has hiked up prices in the last little while, so if you bought this awhile ago you probably saved yourself a pretty penny.

whatcha gonna do with that? are you gonna dye it yourself or leave in au naturale? and also, is that the double drawn/single drawn remy or what they call "natural"?

Nits!!!  I didn't know about that!!!

Is it just indian hair that you tend to get that with, or any hair?

Nits? As in, you wear the hair and end up with head lice? (now I'm
freaking...) or, nits that are dead? I'm guessing with all the chemicals that
go on the hair they're dead, but someone please confirm this....aaaaack!
my scalp is crawling....!!!!

They're dead.  No need to worry.  It's just a matter of cleaning them off the hair.

I'm with some of ya'all on the nits. What the heck??!!  I open my hair I buy and there is nothing like that on it ...'course mine is #613 and very very blonde but EEEWwwwwwwwwww on the nits thing....gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it.  Sounds like they need to clean their hair better or turn folks away with nits.  EEK

BTW, I left this board for a while after deciding extensions just weren't for me but at the pleading of several of my friends and them telling me it looked SO good I got sew ins again but this time got all #613 hair and a better quality hair, at least as good a quality as I can find around here.  :)  I missed it here..**sniff sniff**

You girls are worrying way to much!! Nits are just the left over shell from which lice hatched from at one time. Unfortunately its the reality of buying some indian hair. As sad as it seems, Im sure lice is a minor concern in some of the places where the hair actually comes from.  I have NEVER heard of anyone finding a live critter or even a dead one...all anybody ever finds are the shells or 'nits'. Lice cannot live off the human head for more than 24 hours. The hair is usually cleaned and processed but alot of times some nit shells still remain.

The catch is the $40 shipping, and the ends are a little splitty/frizzy, so if you need 14" I would get the 16" and give it a trim.

WOW Kalika you did an awesome job in reviving the IH. I am impressed..Yeah Indianhairs.com prices have gone up recently. But I am still amazed at the outcome of your hair after giving it TLC. And it is sooo long, I just got into wearing hair long 16-19inches from RHT and glad I did!

Ok I finally have internet now!  Sorry, Im in norway at the moment and my adapter caught fire the first night I was here and I now just got another (flame free) one.

I DO have the indianhair installed, but only the uber long hand wefted hairs, not the machine weft yet, so I dont know how bad it sheds.
