I am thinking of trying this. It looks like it would be great for getting damaged hair back in good condition because your natural hair is sandwitched in between 2 wefts, so less heat gets to your hair when curling, blow drying, or flat ironing. I also love the idea of being able to cover up most of my hair and still being able the pull it up in a pony tail. Has anyone tryed this method? does it really last 2-3 months (i am hoping at least 2)? and it is damaging?

Pretty much the same as pro-tac...I've only had pulling problems cause I play with the hairs underneath, if I didnt do that, I'd have no problems...

No not quite the same, with the protac your hair is sandwitched around the wefts, with this the wefts are sandwitched around your hair. I liked the look of the protac but the wefts were bulky and I felt like I had a hat on my head! I hate the feeling of regular wefts, I am hoping that the seamless ones will be better for me.

ok, I think I know what you are saying...I guess the wefts are slightly different, and are pre-taped...with tape on one side (the protac has it on two - though you can cut it)...is it really that much lighter, I have the microwefts in right now, and they are super thin...

fab....its just seamless wefts with tape and an adhesive. The protac tape is stronger tape. You could do the same thing with pro-tac, just change the technique a little and instead of sandwiching the weft between two layers of natural hair you would sandwich the natural hair between two layers of weft. And instead of folding the tape over the weft, youd cut the tape strip in half and only apply to one side of the weft.

If you thought the protac method was bulky I doubt that youd like this method either. IMO, I think it would feel a bit bulky to have two wefts sandwiched together with one layer of natural hair. Im sure the seamless wefts are less bulky than regular wefts, but I doubt if it would be a big big difference. I think any weft method is gonna have a sort of bulky feeling. For me, its never bothered me. I actually like the feeling of the weft installs better than strand methods.

Do you know what kind of hair is used for those seamless wefts? I would want to know what kind of hair it is...at that price!

sherrie- do you know where I can get seamless wefts for less $ I thought those were  the price's everywhere? no I dont know what kind of hair it is.  If i was going to just sandwitch the weft in between my nat hair I would just order regular wefts, the point of the seamless/skin wefts are they are supposed to give a natural hair line look in stead of this http://www.shrinkies.net/protacdemo.htm - http://www.shrinkies.net/protacdemo.htm  plus regular wefts are visable in my hair.

no Fab I dont really know of any good places to purchase seamless wefts. I wish I did! Becuase I wouldnt mind trying them, but I cant justify the price of for what I have seen available. Id ask glamourhair what kind of hair is used for the seamless wefts, before shelling out that kind of money!

ahh...I just looked at the main page for the seamless wefts and it does say that it is remi cuticle hair.

The average full head of weft installs is about 5 rows + the short top row on the sides. So on average Id say about 42 inches of weft...now double that for the 2 layers (as shown in the seamless method) so you would need about 84 inches of weft.

For someone who does 3 rows + the short top rows. It comes out to about 68 inches.

Either way you would need to purchase 2 of the seamless wefts....a little pricey on the pocketbook dont ya think?

hey  - do you all remember someone here ordered from the supplier in china to get the skin wefts.... do a board search for skin weft and i bet it will pop up..i think it was loads cheaper...

ah edit, it was phenomenal joy but for some reason i can't post the link  - just search for skin weft and look under the results for her name..

much less expensive. So...90 cm equals 36 inches (I think)

has anyone had any experience with the quality of this hair? SAS?? Have you purchased any hair from this company?

I have been doing this and have worn the 'sandwiched' seamless wefts for a long time now.

These are just the skin wefts, so they are very flat, even though you sandwich your hair between two pieces.

When I do it, I use the 1/4" pro flex 2 tape on the wefts and then also use Vapon No Tape as the adhesive.  On myself it held nicely for 12 weeks.  Most of my clients wear it for 8-10 weeks.

The only drawback is that the removal is messy to get all of the No Tape out of the hair. Much patience is needed with removal.  I use the C-22 solvent and it works well, and then I wash the natural hair as many times as necessary with dish soap to get all the residue gunk out of the hair, and then you're ready for reapplication.

It's a good method that I keep in my bag of hair extension tricks.

PS- These are the Ultratress  (by the company Gemtress) wefts that we have discussed here for ages.  Looks like Glamour Hair puts a lot of mark up on the wefts.  Wow, I'm so glad I can buy directly from the manufacturer!

No Sherrie I didn't order their skin wefts. Metalgirl...you ordered from
them right..... Watcha think of the quality?

I got skin weft samples from 2 other companies in China but they were
far more expensive and both samples were Asian hair. The quality was
so-so...nothing to write home about. It's hard to find really good quality
skin wefts.

I wasn't overly thrilled with the quality of the skin wefts I received from that guy in China.  It was ok, but not great.

If I'm doing seamless wefts I just order them from Gemtress.  Most of the time the quality is ok to better.

Speaking of skin wefts...any one ordered from hairpieceworld.com? I just emailed them to get a price list but I heard it was only $23 a weft for 22" hair. Maybe I'll start a new thread if I decide to order or get a sample.

Hi everyone I am thinking of giving pro tac tape a go. I have very fine hair do you think this will work with me?

Also if anyone has done this before could you tell me how long the weft has to be and the tape to acheive a full head as I have only worked with single strands before thanx.

CharlieGeorge--see Sherrie's Protac install. I believe she has said she has fine hair. I have very fine hair as well and have found this method to be by far the gentlest and easiest thing ever. You won't believe how flat these are on your head either!

btw, sorry to hijack w/ my hairpieceworld.com comment...maybe I'll start a new thread if this guy emails me back.
