so i had lighte blonde hair and dyed it bright red, it washed out pink and it was ugly. to cover it up i dyed it med brown which i thought had worked until i actually seen it looked almost black! i looked goth and i hated it. i called a couple salons and they refused to see me because my hair was supposebly not safe to be lightened again, others wanted to charge me a whole lot. i went out and bought manic panic bleach 30 vol. did a strand test and loved it. it lightened my hair in less then 10 minutes! no joke! to protect myself for doing my whole head, i added a little shampoo and conditioner to the bleach.. not only did it save me from not having enough bleach to cover my whole head, but it also made it alot easier to cover my entire hair evenly as it made itself fomey. here is the before and after pics! hope it helps other people in caos. one thing i must say is that the brown color i had added was an ASH brown so thats why it didnt turn so red maybe.  for now im happy.

by the way... i only had the bleach on my entire head for less then 10 minutes as well as the strand test.

So, you had natural brown hair, then it was bleached blonde, then you put red in it and didn't like it, then you colored it brown and it grabbed too dark.

Then, you used the manic panic 30 vol bleach mixed with shampoo and conditioner and it lifted all of the dark out of your hair?

Did you have to recolor your blonde after this or use a toner?  How long did you leave this bleach/shampoo/conditioner mixture all over your hair?  Did it damage your hair badly?

I'm looking for the least damaging way to lift out lowlights out of my bleached out blonde hair.

yes.. my original color is dark brown, then bleached blonde, then red, then the dark brown which looked black. i used manic panic 30vol. mixed with shampoo and conditioner.. left it on for no longer then 10 minutes (counting the time it took me to put it on) and then quickly washed it off. it did no damage or at least i dont see any. i didnt add anything after.. no toner no dye no nothing. i think this will be the way i bleach my hair from now on if i ever do it again. good luck and keep us updated.

Ammonia~

Great job!  I think it looks terrific!  I really like the final colour!

How does it look when you have it dried and styled?

BTW~ How did your hair do after the prcoessing? (I only ask because you said that the salons were saying it shouldn't be touched).  Is it still feeling like its in pretty good shape?

Again~ I think it looks terrific~

Wow, what a result, you are very lucky, however a word of warning, I had medium brown hair and coloured it dark ash blonde permanent, I did this treatment every 6 weeks, after the 3rd time I noticed the breaking and drying effect, my hair is in bad condition now. My curls are limp, my hair is quite frizzy and hardly has any shine.

ok, I have let my hair rest for a couple of weeks, the lowlights have faded but still not enough.  I bought manic panic 30 vol bleaching kit, just one question, what was the ratio of shampoo and conditioner to the bleach?  Basically, did you measure how much you used of everything?

i didnt measure it with anything but what i normally use to take a shower with.. ummm i would say like a table spoon of shampoo and one of condition.

when i used it for 40 minutes, my hair wasnt as light as it was when i used it for 10. i think it took alot less this last time because my hair was really really white blonde already.. so when i added the dark brown.. it did not hold on to the color at all (you know what they said.. that when you have your hair bleached.. the color you used after fades away quick because it doesnt hold it so well.).. at least thats what i think happened.
