I have previous posts explaining my issues with my bleached out blonde hair and lowlights that grabbed too dark.  My stylist added highlights to brighten my hair as step one to try to fix it.  She didn't want to put my hair through stripping unless it was totally necessary.  A couple of posters here recommened the bleach and shampoo technique.  To leave on for about 8-10 minutes to fade my lowlights.

I usually buy my color at Sallys, however I went to the drugstore last night and bought Loreal Excellence Creme Blonde Supreme-High Lift One Step Blonding-Triple Protection Color Creme-Extra Light Ash Blonde.

It comes with a Protective Pre-Color Serum that says it protects fragile hair.  I have never heard of this, has anyone else or has anyone used this Pre-Color Serum?  The ingredients in the Pre-Color Serum are:  Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Trideceth-2, Carboxamide Mea, Ceteareth-30, Phenoxyethanol, Fragarance, Hexadimethrine Chloride, Methylparaben, Polyquaternium-22, Pentasodium Penetrate, Hydroylized Oats, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Porpylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Citric Acis, 1-Oleamido-1, 3-Octadecandiol.

Do you think this product would be good to use for the shampoo/bleach technique?  Should I go to Sally's instead and choose a professional level bleaching kit?

I'm not sure about the bleach/shampoo technique (never used it) and I'm no pro myself, but I tried that exact otc color and it worked ok.  As expected since it had the ash, it tookout a lot of the gold in my hair.  As for the serum, I used it on the ends of my hair (as recommended), but I don't know how much it actually helps.

I've used that before. If you were ADDING color I'd say no, but since you're taking it away..........try it. But, PLEASE DO A TEST STRAND! If for nothing else, to determine the shortest amount of processing time necessary for your desired result.
