So, my hair is currently a golden blonde, but I would like to tone it down because I would ultimately like to have light ash blonde hair.  If I add a demi permanent ash blonde color over my hair at the same level, will the blonde look alright or will it look muddy?  I'll certainly do a strand test, but I just wanted to know what you guys thought.

Be careful with Gold and Ash...you could get Green.  Yellow and Blue make green.  You'd probably be better off toning the hair down a bit with a neutral instead.

I was scared it would turn out green, but after a strand test it looked ok so I tried it.  Luckily, it came out perfectly.  I guess I'm pretty lucky considering my limited knowledge about hair...just trying to learn the color dynamics myself.

Damnit! I thought Ash had green!...And you know how green takes out red...I would always put ash to take out my red...LOL! No wonder it took like three tints to take it out...

Could it turn it green?...Or just greenish?

It could turn a gray/green or green depending on how porous your hair is.

Congrats, Meli! That's what I've done and may go a little more ash after this Phase fades a tad.
