One thing you need to remember is take it slow. You will get a better result that way. It may take a few times to get there, but using Demi will be better on your hair.
Although I haven't used it yet, I will be trying Clairol Complements Demi from Sally soon. Here is the color chart...... http://www.thecreativestudio.com/dispensary/pdf_html/en_sp_new_comp.htm - http://www.thecreativestudio.com/dispensary/pdf_html/en_sp_n ew_comp.htm
I'd suggest 10G Lightest Gold Blonde on top of using Lock In Blonde filler. It will be darker at first, then fade because of the porosity of bleached blonde hair. If after a couple of weeks, if it fades too light, then try mixing the 10G and 8G in 1/2 and 1/2 portions next. And if still too light, next time just 8G.
This might sound funny because you want to 'even out' your color. But, you might want to consider using a highlight cap. You can pull alot of hair through it and it might help your uneven strands blend in better......the sections you don't color might end up looking like highlights. Just a thought.
The thing I'm most concerned about THIS demi is your roots. It's deposit only and shouldn't lighten them much (if at all).
You could always try the Complements Permanent line for your roots only. They have the same colors.
My problem is the only line from Sally I have used is Loreal Feria Professional. It's a permanent line and although I was happy with it, I wanted to use something less harsh.
No matter what you do, DON'T DO YOUR WHOLE HEAD UNTIL YOU STRAND TEST!
