I take 2 or 3 showers/baths a day. I do this because I enjoy them and also I am alwaysssss conditioning my hair. Does the water ruin hair? Take moisture out? Anything like that? RESPOND

im working on getting my hair back to this color...

RESPONSE  (Heehee, you saw it coming):

A lot of showers/baths are not necessarily bad.... as long as you only wash your hair when you need to (when it gets slightly limp, or roots get greasy). Do take care to moisturize your skin though, as multiple showers/baths a day can cause dry skin.

Maybe wash your hair every other day only. And keep it up with the conditioning - conditioner should always be used during a hairwash (with few exceptions). The conditioner is what keeps the hair moisturized, not the water. Edited to add: Hair is most fragile when it is wet. The more time you spend wash-handling your hair, the more damage might happen, or the more potential for dryness. Usually this only matters for people with longer hair, but hey, just something to think about.

If you have hard water in your area, maybe cut down on the showering/bathing to once a day, or every other day, to prevent mineral buildup on the hair and/or skin.

I would say that washing your hair more than once a day is probably not the best treatment for it.  Washing your skin that often will dry it out a great deal so I imagine that it would have the same effect on your hair.  It could also stimulate the oil production in your scalp glands (your body's way of trying to replace the moisture lost through such frequent washing).

Not to mention the shampoo bills!

The longer you can go without washing your hair the better.
