Has anyone seen this? I know it wasn't all real but wasn't Hatsumomo's(Gong Li) hair the most amazing hair you've ever seen? Knee length , straight and black. It looked sooo striking. I wish I could get screencaps. |

I haven't seen the movie yet, I've always been fasinated with geisha

My best friend years ago was Japanese. He was 24 and had grown hair from shoulder to waist in a year. He was also 130 pounds and all of our other Japanese friends thought he was "fat". ------------- Hair type: who knows? Length: 23 inches as of 3/10/06 MY HAIR IS OFFICIALLY BRA STRAP LENGTH!! Goal: Waist Length, which is only 30 inches so ADVISE ME ON HOW TO GET JUST 7 MORE INCHES OF GROWTH! |

YES, that was so weird. I noticed it right away....wasn't the lead actress the one from crouching tiger? Or house of flying daggers? My friend and I talked about that after the movie - we were sort of disturbed that they didn't cast Japanese actresses...... -------------

Yeah but Japanese and Chinese have completely different characteristics. That said, I think they did a brilliant job of making Gong Li look Japanese. She didn't look out of place. ------------- |

I would have like to have seen Chiaki Kuriyama (the actress that played
