Hi All...I had extensions put in by Kristin about two weeks ago but she is not a licensed stylist so she did not do a cut....today I finally got around to getting it properly cut and my stylist used "texturizing" shears as well as regular shears and a razor...do any of you licensed stylists use "texturizing" shears on extensions?  What do you think of them vs. razoring?  I LOVE my cut...

I like using texturizing shears a little more than razoring, usually to make the hair lay and style better I cut in at a slant instead of straight across, its alot better when growing the hair out so you don't get those annoying weird layers

Thank you!  I really love what she did, and yes, she cut at a slant!

Yup...I prefer the thinning shear to razor hands down!!!

I also do a technique where I hold the section and texturize into the hair with a standard shear...it eliminates the cut lines w/o loosing length.

**I must add...I rarely do any cuts with my razor. My philosophy...you run the risk of damaging the shaft/cuticle of all hair. And we all know most extension hair has QUESTIONABLE integrity at that

Interesting...I must say...I LOVE the cut with the texturizing shears better than the razor...seems to have more control....

Gina - It would be great if you posted some "how to" tips!

Amanda - Kristin has the photos...I keep bugging her but I know she is swamped...I will take some in a week or so after I have had the hair in a month.  I am still loving it!  D-lux hair is great!

well, i personally prefer my razor my NEW ultra sonic heat razor to ANYTHING. i have fut all my extensions the last two weeks, ( total 7 heads and let me tell u , its awesome, i wont use anything else, i have even used it on clients with no extensions and man this thing rocks. overall i prefer razor for extensions. i have used the texurizers however, for blending and shaping u have to use either a razor or a sissor, imho!

and yeah i also do alot of point cutting as well.

everyone has their method of choice!!! Not here to say my way is the best way...merely what works for me! I learned this style from the Sahag camp and and some influence from Tony Anders... I've fused these techniques and adapted them to suit me.

We are all passionate artists here...and it's amazing to watch our minds at work!

*PS...didn't mean to name drop but Sahag <RIP> and now Albie are pioneers...and influenced my cutting stlye beyond basic geometry!
