What does everyone recommend for growing out hair to it's maximum potiential? I am doing braids and they seem to be working but I want to try a bunch of stuff like M-T-G (a.k.a Stinky Magic), and this Shea Pomade I saw on Naturally Curly. But i'm still pretty lost and my brain is scattered. What products does everyone recommend for growth and actual health of hair??

For me, it's not a particular product...it's just that I have to keep my hair well moisturized and free of split ends. I've never had braids, but my hair has grown pretty well....but, again, I try my best to keep it well moisturized. When it isn't, I get a lot of split ends and breakage.

try pre-pooing weekly with castor oil- this helps as well as using rosemary oil diluted in sweet almond oil. I do daily co washes and the baggie method at nite. I use gentle shampoos and conditioners. I moisturize and keep the ends moist at all times. Surge 14 plus hair revitalizer may be of some benefit to u- i use that every other day. Make sure that you deep condition every time you wash and i also love adding glycerin, honey and aloe vera to my shampoos and conditioners.

Any treatment that you do prior to shampooing such as hot oil treatment, overnight oiling, overnight w/conditioner, henna, etc.

Best thing that has helped is braids and C&G method %20 - http://www.growafrohairlong.com ...it has really helped me give my hair a break and retain length...I also made a leave-in that has lots of castor oil to fill in and thicken hair.

Co-signing with Surge 14, and also pre-pooing.  I love Carameldiva's method.  Try to keep your hair moisturized, and you might also be interested in vitamins.

No heat, looking after the ends and keeping it moisturised. Sticking to a regime is also healpful because that way you don't experiment too much with your hair.

Ok I don't have a problem w/growing my hair out in the middle and back, my problem is growing out the front and sides. I can't seem to get my front to grow past the bridge of my nose and my sides to grow past my cheek. Any suggestions?
