I just had my hair cut (its been maybe 7 months since my last cut). I know my hair was looking really rough with split ends. I also color my hair about every 3 months (red). The hair stylest told me if I continue to color my hair red I will destory my hair real soon. I have been coloring my hair for at least 22 yrs. She also said my scalp was damage and permanently stained red. Now, she had just finished giving me a scalp massage, shampoo and blow dry. I have never been told I had damaged my scalp with hair coloring. I can't find anywhere on the internet that said this can happen, besides if dye comes off my skin why wouldn't it come off my scalp. I guess I gave her the look like I knew she was BS me and she said she should know since she is a hair stylist. Now this women works at low end hair cutting place. After I got my cut, my hair looks really healthy since I had her cut all the split ends off. I guess my question is: can you permanently damage your scalp with red hair coloring? ------------- Gina |

nope, not permanently. you can damage it, but it isnt anything that wont clear up in a few weeks. the scalp, like all skin, is constantly shedding its outer layer, and all damage will eventually shed.
------------- learn to love what you were born with you can do anything if you set your mindto it (just dont try this with hair,that could turn out bad) |

And I have never heard of a hair color permanently coloring the scalp. -------------
