Hey everyone!

I know I said I would never pretip again, but I think I may give it another go.

Last time I pretipped I used nail glue which ended up being gross and I don't want to use it ever again!  lol!

So, I decided I think I will pretip with Keratin.  (That's ok right)  Sorry not to savy, still learning!

Anyhow, can you melt the keratin chips that are sold on amms site or do they have to be the glue sticks?

My other question is: If you can use the keratin chips for pretipping, can I melt them in a pan on my stove over a low heat setting and dip the strands in there to pretip?

OH one more question, lol, if I can use the chips to pretip to do a full head of pretipping, how much will I need?  Amm sells 23 or 46 grams, do I need more or just 46?

Thanks for any help!

For pretipping with keratin, you can use the fusion chips with a fusion iron or hot pot, or the sticks with a hot glue gun.

I don't know how many you would need, maybe someone else can answer that.

Did you try to use nail glue, all by itself to pretip?  I don't think that would work at all.  I like to tip with liquid gold, and then after the tip is dry, brush a little nail glue on it to help prevent the tip from breaking down and shedding in the future.

Thanks metalgirl!

Yes, I pretipped completely with nail glue alone.  I must say, it was a pain in the tush to do but I actually had next to no shedding or slippage!  I did use the adhesive lined shrink*** when I did it and had no problems with it.

I am just looking to try something new as that was a disaster to do!  lol!
