Ya, I talked to her, she said it was normal for some loss, etc. I am going there tomorrow to  have her look, the rest are fine, once in awhile I loose one or they are tangled and i got them out.

I wonder if it is because i dry it upside down, scrunch with Garnier curl shaping gel, and then scrunch again with Paul Mitchell fast drying sculpting spray, maybe that is gumming them up or something???

I think the reason for not drying your extensions upside down is the tension it puts on the root of your hair when the weight of wet extensions is pulling in the opposite direction of natural hair growth.

The looper brush is a definite must for extensions!

The strands can get tangled more easily as well when you dry upside down and that can exacerbate shedding and matting especially the longer you are into an install (because of growth).  

It is really good that your stylist is responsive to you and that you have been happy with your hair.  When I had a bad experience with extensions because of a fugitive stylist (didn't return calls, etc.) I gave up on them for about 6 months...but once I researched and decided that DIY could work for me I jumped back in and have been doing my own extensions for the past 4 months.

I have less anxiety about my extensions now, since I know if something doesn't seem quite right I can just remove and try again (and I do...about once every 3 weeks or so...shrinkies, protac, or microrings).   I have spent less money than what I did for that 1 time for fusion extensions that lasted 3 weeks and looked awful!

When you remove your extensions, you'll notice quite a bit of hair falling out. This does not mean that your hair has been pulled out; people normally lose 50-100 hairs per day, but we don't notice it because they come out gradually in the hairbrush, shower, on clothing and chairs, etc. This isn't a problem, since new hair grows in at a similar rate to replace the fallen hair. When your hair is in extensions, hair cannot "fall" normally, since it's trapped in an extension base- so the root of the hair comes off your scalp, but the length remains next to your real hair. Once you take out your extensions, your hair must be detangled and the fallen hair removed. Your hair might look tangled and dreadlocked, but it's really mostly a matter of combing out the fallen hair.

yes PaulaJayne, and thats one of the basic things she should have explained to you. Did she give you any after care or fusion maintanance information?  Its normal for hair to shed, and it cannot 'fall' due to being attached in the bond.

But the things you mentioned sounded more like possible problems, which is why we suggested to you to have your girl LOOK at your bonds. Maybe you have an issue or maybe its just normal shedding, but without seeing them we cant tell , nor can anyone tell you over the phone.

Anyway good luck, and did you go see your extensionist?

The ladies here are right, and I'm going to echo the SAME sentiment.. GO SEE YOUR STYLIST TODAY!! not the 12th.. I know this is a new experience for you, but the ONLY way to aleviate your fears is to go see your stylist..

If she cannot see you until the 12th, then you need to seriously consider finding another stylist.. the 12th is too long to wait when your problems are ocurring TODAY.. You paid A LOT of money, and you should feel comfortable with your "purchase". I'm not a DIYer, and I can understand NOT wanting to do your own extensions. God bless the ladies who do their own, but I prefer to leave that to a professional. So go see your stylist.. If she cannot or will not help you until the 12th, get in the phone book or ask around or whatever you have to do, and find another stylist who is skilled and responsive to your concerns.
