I know this has been talked about before but I wondered if there is an update on the best glue pot. Sounds bizarre..

I really want want one to make use of the spillage as at the minute I seem to be losing quite a lot with a particular batch of glue sticks. Rather than waste them I figure I may as well get my moneys worth and invest in a glue pot. Suffice to say I won't be purchasing them again but a glue pot will always come in handy so I'm happy to purchase one.

I recall Amm mentioning one that was under $6 but a few people commented that it never got hot enough. As I've never used one before I could do with a bit of guidance if possible.

Many thanks.

I would definitely not recommend that glue pot.  I have the same one at home Sam that I can send you, it just doesn't get hot enough to melt the keratin, it just makes it a gooey mess.  I'd recommend one from http://www.hair-heaven.com - www.hair-heaven.com click on products and then application tools, there are two in there xx

I also agree with Amanda. I have tried the hot pot they sell at Micheal's that I orginial bought on e-bay item# 6861845833. It only slightly melted the glue because it didn't heat up enough to melt the glue sticks.  It did melt Oranz glue chips but the glue did not hold up well and the removal was a disaster. I also found another pot on e-bay item #9501089145, that you might want to take a look at. The company that makes the keratin sticks/chips have their own melting pot for their product, the key is finding out what temperatures the keratin will melt at.

How liquidy does the glue get in a good pot? The one I have melts the glue,
but it always has a sort of gooey film on the top that you have to move
around to get to the liquidy stuff underneath. Is that usual for a pot thats
hot enough? I

Sassy, they're fine but they don't work with my glue gun for some reason (keep clogging it up really badly). They were great for a time and I'm still super grateful for your help with them but as they're the only sticks that don't seem to be compatible I think I'll go back to my original sticks rather than change the gun.

I seem to have had nightmares with glue sticks for some reason and it's not for want of trying, I've used a number of different ones! I'll get there eventually...

Thanks Amanda, I'll take a look x

Why dont you contact the company and ask him to replace them.  It might be worth a phone call, I dont think that they should be clogging your gun up.
