| I've never used Colorfix before, but does it tend to leave hair with a slight color afterwards? I have a medium brown on my hair, but I'm just curious how much it will actually take out when I try to bring it back to the original color. Also, I think it uses a 20vol developer...is that very harsh or is it pretty much the same harshness as a demi permanent? Thanks for any help! |

I havent used Colorfix, but I've used Goldwell, which is more or less
the same thing except it comes in two bottles like with hair dye.
If you have medium brown it'll most probably get you down to a light
brown/dark blonde colour, depending on your natural tone (you didn't
say what it was?), and depending on how much you've dyed/how long
ago. IT IS BEST to test strand! Colorfix is supposedly the
most gentle hair colour remover out there, so you'll probably not
notice the little damage it has done. I didn't with Goldwell
anyway. Yes, you're right, Colorfix will leave a slight orange tinge in your hair which you will overcome by either dying over using an ash tone, or bleaching and toning your hair until there's no more orange. |

| I used Colorfix yesterday. It did a great job of removing several layers and years of color. It removed the remnants of a dark red and then multiple layers of brown. It left my hair the orange color that the bleach in the brown and red dyes had taken my hair too. Now I just need to bleach and tone. It did no damage that I could tell to my hair at all. It was a very good product. |

Ok, I bought it and it didn't budge the super dark brown in my hair, am I doing something wrong?

Did you put the 3rd final solution on - because I didn't think you put
that on unless you wanted to check if you've removed enough. What
kind of removal did you do, full or partial? How long have you
had your hair dyed dark? How porous is your hair? Black or colours close to it can sometimes be unsuccessful with Colorfix, but really it should have lightened at least slightly. Colour remover (Goldwell - similar to Colorfix) made my blue/black hair light brown in one application...and I've heard most people who have used Colorfix sing it's praises also. |

One quick note on Color Remover. It works very similar to bleach but it is not as harsh on the hair....however deep conditioning after is still something that should be done as with any chemical procedure even color removal it dries the cortex of the hairstrand out. Color Remover only removes Permanent Haircolor that was applied to the hair strands. Demi or Semi Permanent haircolor will not be removed using Colorfix or any other color remover. Color Remover lifts in stages just like bleach and when you are done you will be left with brassy undertones....redish orange, orange, orange-yellow or yellow. What you are seeing when you see this is the underlying pigment that has been exposed. You should also look at color charts for tint backs this will give you an idea of the colors that you can safely put over the current underlying pigment of your hair. If your hair is a red or redish orange or orange you will not be able to successfully lift that to a blonde color. The only way for you to do that would be to bleach afterwards...but I wouldn't recommend doing that as color removal then bleach is very damaging to the hair and breakage or severe chemical damage could occur. Underlying pigments exposed....this is Goldwell's level system which is a European Level System that goes from 2-10 with 2 being the darkest and 10 being the lightest.
Appropriate color shades to apply over exposed underlying pigments...

Is there any help at all for those of us who used demi-permanent?
I used a brown-black from Herbal Essences and it won't budge!!!!!!!

It will fade over time. You can speed up the fading process with
dandruff shampoo and there are lots of at-home remedies that I can't
remember
