| For some reason in the back of my head I keep telling myself that I definitely need to give up on relaxers. But I've noticed that just in the matter of 8 weeks..it so damn stressful to even think about dealing with your hair. All the new growth hurts me and my scalp. I have TIGHT coils, perfect spirals. I have no clue of how to transition, and I don't know if I should even think about it seeing as though I'd have to buy MORE products, and rethink my reigmen. It just seems like a great thing to do because I know my hair would be absolutely pretty with natural hair. Does transitioning hurt? And what happens after a year or so of transitioning.. ? do you clip off whatever relaxed ends you have? Or is it safe to just let them grow to the end of their peak and then snip off only a little? I consider but is it really worth it? |

Transitioning doesnt really hurt (atleast for me it doesnt). Just from time to time, my scalp gets sore because of all the new growth, other than that its the only minor problem I've experienced while Transitioning. I really havent bought any extra products since I've been Transitioning, maybe one or two extra products. There's two options when it comes to Transitioning: 1) You can gradually trim your ends unil your hair is 100% natural 2) You can let your hair grow out without trimming (its a longer & harder process) IMO Transitioning isnt just about hair, its also a mental process. No, transitioning doesn't hurt. When I first decided to transition, my original plan was to transition for a year and then do the BC. But 5 months into my transition, my mind had changed and I had gotten to the point where I couldn't wait to be natural. I was so excited and I chopped after transitioning for 5 months. I know what you mean about the scalp being sore! I am transitioning too. It is a lifestyle change almost. No more easy relaxers where I have get up and go kinda hair. I have to think about what I should do it. I need to think of something fast because my hair is getting too think and long for wigs here pretty soon. I'm scared of braids, at least until I can thicken my thinning hair up top. I just bought some nice scarfs that I like wearing after work and on the weekends when I don't feel like doing anything to my hair. I find myself admiring all the pretty Locs and short styles saying to myself "just loc it and get it over with!" But I'm used to a certain look, straight hair, I can't get that image out of my mind, at least not yet! Help!. I'd rather have the pain of some times dealing with tangled kinky hair rather than the pain of chemical burns form relaxers and getting nasty scars and scabs. | Could part of my hair be somewhat natrually texturized. For instance.. ever since I started texturizing.. whenever I wash my hair curls up A LOT... Any thoughts ladies? |
