quote : I know it looks like everyone is ganging up on you but you vehemently deny that you did make posts of that kind,, so u needed to actually see them and no this isnt a politically charged forum at all but you keep up bringing up white vs black over and over and its hard to ignore and its kinda sad if u ask me
Yeah yeah people are offended by my questions are they how so? How can a question about hair texture be offending to someone? Like i have said b4 i was only asking out of curiosity.......Besides you act as if all my post are about blk/wht hair and that just isnt true :
post 1 : i have always wondered is blk women left thier hair in its natural state would our hair health be a lot better ? I mean if instead of relaxers when we wanted straight hair we just blow dried it straight and used a flat iron like curly haired white chicks do? i mean now morethan ever we have non chemical ways of straightening our hair.....if we didnt use chemicals would our hair be strong enough naturally to stand up to flat irons and blow dryers better? im sorry not to down relaxers i guess im just ranting :(
Post 2 :
Well why is it that they tell you not to scratch 72 hours before getting relaxed i mean why is it if i scratch on thurday and get my hair done sunday my scalp will burn.
Another thing is why do relaxers burn at all i mean whats in the relaxers that causes the burning sensation
one more thing why dont they just relax the hair it seems as though they always purposely put the relaxer on the scalp i mean the scalp doesnt need to be straightened does it?
Post 3 : OK lately ive been afraid to use them because you guys have said that they block moisture from getting in BUT is there an type of cone that isnt as bad as dimethicone....you know a kinda cone that brushes out easier ?
post 4 : I dont know whats going on ever since i lost my mango butter ive been in tears ive had nothing but breakage the optimum stuiff makes my hair really soft but its like im missing something plz some suggestions
post 5 :
OK like i said mango butter is gone :( so now im using optimum oil therapy hair and scalp quencher by shoft sheen but im not sure about the ingrdients there isnt any minerla oil or petroleum thankfully but what about threse ingrdients:
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride , Isopropyl Myristate , Elaeis Guineensis/Palm Oil , C18-36 Acid Triglyceride , Paraffin , C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate , Cyclopentasiloxane , Olea Europaea Olive Fruit Oil , Simmondsia Chinensis Jojoba Seed Oil , Cocos Nucifera Coconut Oil , Persea Gratissima Avocado Oil , Parfum Fragrance , Propylparaben , BHT , Butylphenyl Methylpropional , Amyl Cinnamal , Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde , Benzyl Salicylate , Limonene , Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone , Citronellol , 2-Oleamido-1,3 Octadecanediol
post 6 : My hair feels well how can i put it um not smooth i mean i didnt moisturize it for like thre days (because like i said walmart decided to pull mango butter off the shelves and i wasnt going to use anything with petrolum and/or mineral oil in it so i guess im paying the price but i did use smoothing milk from garnier but i just didnt use a "moisturizer" so the question is what should i do to maximize the moisture in my hair now that im using the optimum hair and scalp quencher or yeah should i apply it directly to my scalp?
post 7 :I cant believe it the walmarts where i live (middle ga) quit selling mango butter i even went to Sallys beauty suply and they dont even have it right now im using optimum hair and scalp quencher i like it alright but i want my mango butter back know where i can find it other than online
Post 8 : The crazy woman told my mama that i used too many hair products on my hair? What does she mean by that all i have to say is i only use five things tops AND my hair is healthy and growing......she only says that because i dont buy her high priced stuff....why is it the "good stuff" for your hair the stuff they only sell in the shop for 25 dollard a piece. I mean she charges 8.99 for hair moisturizing creme! Thannks but no thanks ill keep using my mango butter
post 9 : Ive heard several ppl say "white folks cant do relaxers" but a buddie of mine who goes to cosmetology school said that everyone gets taught how to do everything no matter what race you are its just white people have a hard time getting someone black to let them do thier hair.
post 10 : I was getting dropped off to get my relaxer the other day and i asked my salonist how long was she going to be so i could tell my ride what time to piuck me up and she coped and attitude saying "how ever long it takes" i mean she acted as if i was doing her a favor i mean IM the customer im paying her so why the attitude? is this normal? I mean so many blk salonist seem to think they are doing you a favor by doing your hair when in actuality you the customer are doing them a service by being there paying the 50 dollars to get your hair relaxed
post 11 : I got my hair relaxed she only left it on for 30 (i have very corse tightly curled hair) exactly she gave me a trim for good measure ...so them i washed my hair 5 days later let it air dry then flat iron it on a setting of 3 and it got straight at the roots but the ends are frizzy why and what can i do about it is this just herdity?
post 12 :So they now sell em at walmart should i buy the deep conditioner? (this post was about nexxus being sold at walmart)
post 13 :Is it? I mean it makes your hair shine...i know some have said it sits on the hair and blocks moisture out when you say sit how long can a rpoduct sit on your hair without dissapating into the air? I mean it cant sit there forever or we could just put moisturizer on our hair once and not have to do it again until you wash it out. any commenmts ? (about shine serums)
post 14 :Why is it that when I try to straighten my hair with a flat iron the new grow fights so hard i mean i thought heat was what whipped it into submission? Its not fair i mean what do i have to do here beat my hair up? Any tips on getting new groth straightened out
Post 15 : Could the cause of my frizzy hair just be herdity because i notice my mom after she drys her hair frizzy but she can defrizz it easier than i can usually if i want frizz free hair i have to get a relaxer
post 16 : Why does my hair frizz up so bad i mean when i air dry it frizzes when i blow it out it frizzes is there no solution to my friz problem?
post 17 : Is it better for your hair because you arent going from extremely curly to straight you r just going fromextremely curly to looser curls?
post 18 : I have realxed hair but i want to put blue streaks in it.....now how can i go about this w/o damaging my hair
post 19 : I dont have a hooded dryer at my dorm so when i deep condition i use my hand dryer on low is this ok? I mean im not drying it im just putting heat on it enough to deep condition my ends
Post 20 :My scalp has been itchy for the past few days and i washed it last friday (i wait every five days until i wash it) when i scratch no dirt comes up like it does when its dirty it just itches. COuld it be because i slept with a cap on during the weekend and i sweated and by sweating i dried out my scalp? Could i be i need some extra scalp moisture because its winter? I mean it hasnt been itchy and dry long it just started last week. What should I do and whats the cause of this?
post 21 : When ever i air dry my hair or blow dry it out it ends up frizzy i hate to have to use a flat iron all the time but its either that or have a hair full of frizz any tips or help? I know my hair isnt damaged coz i asked my stylist to trim my hair like a week ago ....so could it be that my hair is just naturally frizzy? if so how do i tame the friz plz plz plz help me
post 22 : have naturally thick hair and when i get a relaxer it seems to become less thick and i like it this way because its easier to manage such as pulling it back into a pony tail and such ...when i first wash my hair after the relaxer its still straight but it thickens back up is there a reason why and how do i get it back to be thinner like it was when i first got it relaxed?
post 23 :dont use tresseme's hot oil treatment theres alcohol denat in it....and from what i read on this board is bad bad bad for your hair (why would it be in a hot oil treatment i dont know).I bought some last night and read the package this morning (shopping while drunk bad bad bad idea :) )So im taking the sucker back and buying suave hot oil treatment better ingrdients and cheaper.Just a heads
post 24 : Do I have to tie my hair up at night? I hate those bonnet things and those head wrap things too they make my head sweat. I currently use a satin pillow case but my stylist says this wont keep my hair in place.....i mean i dont care about having to comb it in the morning because i have to manipulate it anyway when i put my curlers in it.So do I have to tie my hair up in order to prevent breakage or can i just sleep on a pillow case ?
post 25 : I think i may try to use vive when i run out of my current shampoo....i just need a cheaper alternative........now heres the problem the shampoo vive makes for relaxed hair has glycerin in it and the regular vive doesnt other than this one ingredient there really is no difference except the one for relaxed hair cost a dollar more which one should i choose i the vive for relaxed hair with glycerin or the regular vive with out it plz help i need some help :)
post 26 : can you huh huh im looking at my suave body lotion it has vitamin e and glycerin is the second ingredient im not saying everyday use just until i can get my hands oin somemore mango butter (a week or so)
post 27 : i heard bad things about tresseme but what about vive ,and garnier fuitice?
and finally post 28 : I read i review book called dont shop for hair products without me and it said that the shampoo brand tresseme was great and it uses sodium laureth sulphate soit gentle and makes your hair really strong soo i was wondering had anyone else on this forum ever use it btw i may have spelled it wrong so.....anyway opinons welcomed
So thats alonst 30 post out of how many that talked about problems with MY hair i wouldnt say that all i do is sit around and compare blk/wht hair i think saying 70 % is a an exageration id be expecting you guys to be more tired of my post about my frizzy hair rather than my random questions about differences. I only ask because i figure someone on the board would know the answer. I didnt expect to be ganged up on so....Obviously the subject of asking abotu hair textures is a sore spot on this forum because apparently me asking questions about differences in hair textures on this forum means that you have a problem with your heritage or there is something deeper going on when its just out of curiosity ....well sorry but if you dont liike my post oh well just dont like them im not losing sleep because a couple of people that dont know or ever have to be near me have a problem with my post so go on be as offended as you want.......and if you ask me being offended by a persons questions about hair is sad not some asking valid questions out of curiosity...... I dont see anything wrong with asking "why cant blk women sleep on cotton pilklow and ppl of other races can" have none of you ever wondered that?and im not sitting around comparing hair i have just noticed that there are differences and i wanted to know why the differences are the way they are and i dont see a problem with that and obviosly some people here do so oh well ....This really is my last post on this particular thread so have fun squawking about me and my "annoying post comparing white and black hair" amongst your selves. Im done this is seriously childish it was just a couple of questions geez
by the way i have apologized to cremesweet about flying off the handle and i will apologize to picked guese as well but as for the rest of you who were rude (not phenoix she was nice about it) keep squawking
