i just got acrlyics exactly a week ago today, and they're already starting to look like they need fills (although i dont know b/c this is the only time ive had them).... they're starting to lift a tiny bit on the sides of some of them and they're not up to the cuticle anymore... i dont want to pick at them cuz i want to keep them.  is it normal to have to fill them after only a week?  i thought acrylics were supposed to last at least 2 weeks?

Growth is normal!  You are right, you need to fill them after 2 weeks, but you will show growth before that.  Ive had clients who were so anal about their nails, they would come in every 10 days, but most people wait 2-3 weeks (3 is the absolute max or you risk product breakdown).

I know this is an old post, but I just wanted to say that yes you do need a fill. This could simply be because your nails are growing out ..or whoever did your nails didn't do a good job. This also could be both too. I used to get mine done a lot and (this may sound weird, but it's true) but if I went to an inexpensive place where they didn't seem to take as much time doing it, the color was chipping within a few days and they needed filled sooner. However, if I went to a nice nail salon, where I know they did good work.. my nails seemed to at least last 2 weeks before I needed a fill.
